Design of current sources for load common mode optimization

open access: yesJournal of Electrical Bioimpedance, 2018
Bioimpedance measurement systems often use the Howland current sources to excite the biological material under study. Usually, difference or instrumentation amplifiers are used to measure the resulting voltage drop on this material.

Recomposable Layered Metasurfaces for Wavelength‐Multiplexed Optical Encryption via Modular Diffractive Deep Neural Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Modular diffractive deep neural network metasurfaces encode and reconstruct holograms across layer combinations and wavelengths, enabling secure, multifunctional operation. Each layer acts independently yet composes jointly, yielding up to m(2N −1) channels for m wavelengths and N layers.

Engineering a Sonotherapeutic RBC Membrane‐Derived Nanoparticle Platform for the Treatment of Liver Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Herein, an RBC membrane‐derived nanoparticle (CMN‐ICG) is engineered to efficiently deliver a sonosensitizing agent, indocyanine green (ICG), for sonotherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). CMN‐ICG exhibits excellent cytocompatibility, significantly enhances hepatocyte uptake, and produces excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) upon ultrasound ...

The Design of a Low Noise, Multi-Channel Recording System for Use in Implanted Peripheral Nerve Interfaces

open access: yesSensors, 2022
In the development of implantable neural interfaces, the recording of signals from the peripheral nerves is a major challenge. Since the interference from outside the body, other biopotentials, and even random noise can be orders of magnitude larger than

Common‐mode rejection ratio characterisation of a broadband electro‐optical differential ESD voltage probe

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2019
The concept of an isolated differential voltage measurement system is presented. The proposed probe circuit is designed for broadband measurement of electrostatic discharge (ESD) waveforms. The electro‐optical conversion of the measured signal allows the system to operate in an electromagnetically polluted environment.

Gourd‐Inspired Design of Unit Cell with Multiple Gradients for Physiological‐Range Pressure Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Gourd‐shaped micro‐dome arrays with coordinated modulus, conductivity, and geometric gradients co‐optimize sensitivity and linearity in piezoresistive tactile sensors. Under pressure, a solid upper dome embeds into a porous lower dome, triggering rapid contact‐area growth and series‐to‐parallel conduction, enabling unsaturated, intensity‐resolved ...

Balanced InP/InGaAs Photodiodes With 1.5-W Output Power

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2013
We report InP/InGaAs modified unitraveling-carrier balanced photodiodes (PDs). The back-illuminated PDs were flip-chip bonded on diamond submounts for enhanced heat sinking.

Bio‐Inspired Multimodal Hardware Front‐End Enabled by 2D Floating‐Gate Memory for UAV Perception

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A MoS2/h‐BN /graphene floating‐gate memory underpins a bio‐inspired multimodal front end that integrates visual, inertial, and airflow cues. A 4 × 4 FG memory array encodes temporal intensity differences, while IMU‐ and airflow‐driven threshold modulation suppresses self‐motion artifacts, enabling fast, low‐power, robust autonomous UAV tracking and ...

A Fully Differential Analog Front-End for Signal Processing from EMG Sensor in 28 nm FDSOI Technology

open access: yesSensors, 2023
This paper presents a novel analog front-end for EMG sensor signal processing powered by 1 V. Such a low supply voltage requires specific design steps enabled using the 28 nm fully depleted silicon on insulator (FDSOI) technology from STMicroelectronics.
