Auto‐Routing Fluidic Printed Circuit Boards

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work introduces (STREAM) software tool for routing efficiently advanced macrofluidics, an open‐source software tool for automating the design of 3D‐printable fluidic circuit boards. STREAM streamlines tube routing and layout, enabling the rapid fabrication of fluidic networks for soft robotics, lab‐on‐a‐chip devices, microfluidics, and biohybrid ...

Stochastic processes govern gut bacterial community assembly in a Schistosoma mansoni-transmitting snail, Biomphalaria straminea.

open access: yesPLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases
BackgroundStudies have revealed extensive taxonomic classifications and patterns of gut microbial diversity in snails, with limited focus on community assembly processes.

Using optimized dimensionality reduction and machine learning to explain driving processes of phytoplankton community assembly in large mountain rivers

open access: yesEcological Indicators
Large mountain rivers create unique aquatic habitats and become one of biodiversity hot spots within ecosystems. Since phytoplankton constitutes a crucial component of primary productivity in aquatic ecosystems, understanding its community assembly ...

"International Parliament Organs and European Institutional Organisation: The Case of the European Parliament" [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
The European Parliament is a member of the family of international parliamentary organs (lPOs). "Parts of international organisations, composed of parliamentarians", as they are often described, are in my view one of the most important achievements of ...

Dual‐Functional Ingestible Passive Capsules for High‐Throughput Intestinal Sampling with Sealed Containment and Targeted Drug Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
To address challenges in high‐throughput intestinal sampling with sealed containment and target drug delivery, we developed a dual‐functional ingestible passive capsule with a dual‐triggered control system based on pH‐response and mechanical actuation.

Ecological features of microbial community linked to stochastic and deterministic assembly processes in acid mine drainage

open access: yesApplied and Environmental Microbiology
Ecological processes greatly shape microbial community assembly, but the driving factors remain unclear. Here, we compiled a metagenomic data set of microbial communities from global acid mine drainage (AMD) and explored the ecological features of ...

Liquid Crystalline Elastomers in Soft Robotics: Assessing Promise and Limitations

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Liquid crystalline elastomers (LCEs) are programmable soft materials that undergo large, anisotropic deformation in response to external stimuli. Their molecular alignment encodes directional actuation in a monolithic structure, making them long‐standing candidates for soft robotic systems.

Textile Actuation Based on In‐Air Actuating Polypyrrole‐Based Tape Yarns for Wearable Soft Robotics: Toward On‐Body Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work reports on the actuation behavior of CP‐based polypyrrole/PVdF TYs soaked in electrolyte/ionic liquids and woven actuators where such TYs are integrated. These studies are important toward the creation of on‐body applications such as wearable soft robotics, where textiles offer many advantages such as increased force, integrated electrical ...

Bioinspired Soft‐Skeleton Robotics With Cooperative Shape Transformation and Stiffness Adaptation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A bioinspired soft‐skeleton robot that integrates variable‐stiffness chain skeletons into a soft textile skin is developed. The chain skeletons are highly flexible initially but can stiffen upon pneumatic actuation, enabling large deformation and enhanced load‐bearing capacity.
