Measuring the Hall Effect in Hysteretic Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The authors highlight common pitfalls in measuring the Hall effect: in hysteretic magnets, improper data processing can create signals that look exotic but are not real. This Perspective explains the origin of these artifacts and presents practical measurement strategies that help researchers identify reliable Hall responses in complex magnetic ...

A Framework for Dynamic Composition of Communication Services

ACM Transactions on Sensor Networks, 2014
We propose a framework for dynamic composition of communication services that is well suited for facilitating research and prototyping on real experimental infrastructures of remotely configurable embedded devices. By using the concept of composability, our framework supports modular component development for various networking functions, thereby ...

Detecting Change in the Composition of a Multispecies Community

Biometrics, 1994
This paper describes an approach to extracting a trend from a time series of the composition of a multispecies community. The approach is based on a modification of a method for trend extraction from ordinary multiple time series. Two applications to a Northwest Atlantic ecosystem are described.

Composition of nets via a communication medium

1991
The general idea of this paper is to build a system in a modular way and to deduce its properties only by analysing its smaller components. Since, in general, composing subnets does not preserve properties (especially liveness) at the level of the global net, the problem is to find constraints on the subnets for establishing such results.
