Commutation torque ripple of four-switch brushless DC motor drives, part I: analysis
9th IEEE International Workshop on Advanced Motion Control, 2006., 2006Torque ripple generated in the commutation interval is one of the main drawbacks of BLDC motor. This paper presents an original comprehensive study on the generated torque ripples due to phase commutation in the four-switch, three-phase inverter (FSTPI) brushless dc motor drives which are suitable for low cost applications.

A novel predicted current control scheme of BLDCMs for commutation torque ripple reduction
2015 18th International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2015Commutation torque ripple of BLDCMs is still the main problem of the precise application. This paper presents a simple predicted the current control scheme of BLDCMs(Brushless DC Motors) during commutation region to reduce commutation torque ripple. The proposed method uses a predicted current slope and variations during commutation region. To keep the

Torque ripple reduction of BLDC motors by modifying the non-commutating phase voltage
International Conference on Electrical, Control and Computer Engineering 2011 (InECCE), 2011This paper presents a method for commutation torque ripple reduction in brushless DC motor (BLDCM) drives. Commutation torque ripple depends on the current ripple. In the proposed method, by adding an extra voltage source to the non-commutating phase, current ripple and so commutation torque ripple is suppressed. The current ripple of BLDC motor in 120°

Controllability analysis of torque ripple due to phase commutation in brushless DC motors
ICEMS'2001. Proceedings of the Fifth International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (IEEE Cat. No.01EX501), 2002In a brushless DC motor (BLDCM) drive system, it has been well noted that phase-current commutations and the imperfection of back electromotive force (EMF) are usually the major causes of electromagnetic torque pulsation. With the extension of BLDCM applications, many methods have been presented to attenuate the pulsation and, the most popular ones are
