A commutativity property for rings

Journal of Algebra and Its Applications, 2015
We provide a partial answer to the following question: Assume that R is a finite ring of order s such that for every two subsets M and N of cardinalities m and n respectively, there exist x ∈ M and y ∈ N such that xy = yx.

Commutative Approximate Adders: Analysis and Evaluation

IEEE/ACM International Symposium on Nanoscale Architectures, 2021
Ripple Carry Adders (RCAs) made of approximate cells are used in many applications to reduce power dissipation and delay. Unlike its exact counterpart, an approximate RCA may have a non-commutative feature due to the characteristics of the approximate ...

Finite Dimensionality in the Non-commutative Choquet Boundary: Peaking Phenomena and C*-Liminality

International mathematics research notices, 2020
We explore the finite-dimensional part of the non-commutative Choquet boundary of an operator algebra. In other words, we seek finite-dimensional boundary representations. Such representations may fail to exist even when the underlying operator algebra

The commutative property of strong-transition rate matrices

, 1979
The (n − 1)-fold degenerate set of transition probabilities used in our recent reformulation of unimolecular reaction theory is operationally equivalent to the set of effective strong-transition probabilities introduced recently by Nordholm.

The Commutation Property

2010
In certain cases the filtering is in a sense trivial: the process decomposes into the observable and an independent process.

COMMUTING PROPERTIES OF EXT

Journal of the Australian Mathematical Society, 2013
AbstractWe characterize the abelian groups$G$for which the functors$\mathrm{Ext} (G, - )$or$\mathrm{Ext} (- , G)$commute with or invert certain direct sums or direct products.

Mirror Detection With the Visual Chirality Cue

IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 2022
Mirror detection is challenging because the visual appearances of mirrors change depending on those of their surroundings. As existing mirror detection methods are mainly based on extracting contextual contrast and relational similarity between mirror ...

Commutation Properties of Symmetric Operators [PDF]

open access: possibleMathematische Nachrichten, 1995
AbstractThis relationship between the weak and strong bounded commutants of a symmetric operator S and the commutant of a generalized spectral family (in Naimark's sense) of S is studied. A characterization of the existence of self‐adjoint extensions of S via von Neumann subalgebras of the weak commutant is also given.
