On commutative polarizations

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 2003
The purpose of this paper is to study finite-dimensional Lie algebras over a field k of characteristic zero which admit a commutative polarization (CP). Among the many results and examples, it is shown that, if k is algebraically closed, the nilradical N of a parabolic subalgebra in A_n and C_n has such a CP.

Migration, daily commuting, or second residence? The role of location-specific capital and distance to workplace in regional mobility decisions [PDF]

open access: yesDemographic Research

Commutators and generators.

open access: yesMATHEMATICA SCANDINAVICA, 1988
Let \({\mathcal B}\) be a Banach space, \(\sigma\) a \(C_ 0\)-group of isometries of \({\mathcal B}\) with generator \(H\), and \({\mathcal D}\subseteq D(H)\) a \(\sigma\)-invariant core of \(H\). Suppose \(K:{\mathcal D}\to {\mathcal B}\) is a dissipative operator satisfying \[ 1.\quad \| Ka\| \leq k_ 0(\| Ha\| \vee \| a\|),\quad a\in {\mathcal D}, \]

Fixed points for pairs of mappings in d complete topological spaces

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1993
Several important metric space fixed point theorems are proved for a large class of non-metric spaces. In some cases the metric space proofs need only minor changes.

Exploring the Adoption of E-Bikes by Different User Groups

open access: yesFrontiers in Built Environment, 2018
Increased e-bike use can potentially support a shift toward more sustainable and active transport systems. This paper outlines the potential of e-bikes for three user groups that have as yet not fully adopted this mode of transportation: commuters, rural
