Covariant non-commutative space–time
We introduce a covariant non-commutative deformation of 3+1-dimensional conformal field theory. The deformation depends on a short-distance scale \ell_p, and thus breaks scale invariance, but preserves all space-time isometries. The non-commutative algebra is defined on space-times with non-zero constant curvature, i.e. dS_4 or AdS_4.

Inflation on a non-commutative space–time [PDF]
We study inflation on a non-commutative space-time within the framework of enveloping algebra approach which allows for a consistent formulation of general relativity and of the standard model of particle physics. We show that within this framework, the effects of the non-commutativity of spacetime are very subtle.

Almost Commuting Matrices, Localized Wannier Functions, and the Quantum Hall Effect [PDF]
For models of non-interacting fermions moving within sites arranged on a surface in three dimensional space, there can be obstructions to finding localized Wannier functions.

The positive utility of the commute: modeling ideal commute time and relative desired commute amount [PDF]
Two measures of commute time preferences – Ideal Commute Time and Relative Desired Commute amount (a variable indicating the desire to commute "much less" to "much more" than currently) – are modeled, using tobit and ordered probit, respectively. Ideal Commute Time was found to be positively related to Actual Commute Time and to a liking and utility ...

Impacts of spatial mismatch on commuting time of urban residents in China
In much of studies on spatial mismatch between residential and employer locations, job accessibility has been measured. However, the apparent disadvantages of the traditional measurement methods on the studies of Chinese cities have been noted.

Monads, Strings, and M Theory [PDF]
The recent developments in string theory suggest that the space-time coordinates should be generalized to non-commuting matrices. Postulating this suggestion as the fundamental geometrical principle, we formulate a candidate for covariant second ...

Commute Time and Labor Supply [PDF]
Commuting imposes financial, time and emotional cost on the labor force, which increases the cost of supplying labor. Theory suggests a negative or no relation between travel and working time for two reasons: travel time is a cost to supplying labor and commuting frustrates the traveler decreasing productivity.

Symmetry and asymmetry in working and commuting arrangements between partners in the Netherlands : does the residential context matter? [PDF]
Time spent on work and commuting within dual-earner households is often analysed separately for individuals, but this does no justice to the reality of dual-earner households where decisions on work and commuting are made in a household context.
