A partir das implicações sobre o dilema entre acessibilidade de consumo de espaço, os modelos de Economia Urbana estabelecem uma clara relação entre localização da residência e a estrutura familiar, com famílias com menos dependentes situando-se mais ...

Firm relocations, commuting and relationship stability
In this paper we study the impact of firm relocations on commuting distance and the probability of married couples and cohabiting couples with children separating.

Covariant non-commutative space–time
We introduce a covariant non-commutative deformation of 3+1-dimensional conformal field theory. The deformation depends on a short-distance scale \ell_p, and thus breaks scale invariance, but preserves all space-time isometries. The non-commutative algebra is defined on space-times with non-zero constant curvature, i.e. dS_4 or AdS_4.

Impacts of spatial mismatch on commuting time of urban residents in China
In much of studies on spatial mismatch between residential and employer locations, job accessibility has been measured. However, the apparent disadvantages of the traditional measurement methods on the studies of Chinese cities have been noted.

Traffic light cycles for a sustainable city [PDF]
Cities worldwide struggle to reduce car dependency despite its costs: congestion, pollution, inefficient land use and traffic fatalities. Traffic light timing, often favouring cars, plays a surprisingly powerful yet underexplored role in commuters ...

The Optimal Choice of Commuting Speed: Consequences for Commuting Time, Distance and Costs [PDF]
In this paper, we derive a structural model for commuting speed. We presume that commuting speed is chosen to minimise commuting costs, which encompass both monetary and time costs. At faster speed levels, the monetary costs increase, but the time costs fall. Using data from Great Britain, we demonstrate that the income elasticity of commuting speed is

Many studies provided evidence regarding the influence of built environment (BE) on commuting time. However, few studies have considered the spatial heterogeneity of such impacts. Using data from Nanjing, China, this study employs two-step clustering and
