Directional Flow of Confined Polaritons in CrSBr

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
CrSBr, a layered magnetic semiconductor, naturally channels self‐hybridized excitonpolaritons into highly directional flow. Its intrinsic optical anisotropy, high refractive index, and strong lightmatter coupling enable long‐range guided modes along the a‐axis, with propagation lengths set by their excitonphoton admixture.

Are Compact Cities Environmentally (and Socially) Desirable? [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2012
There is a wide consensus among international institutions and national governments in favor of compact (i.e. densely populated) cities as a way to improve the ecological performance of the transport system. Indeed, when both the intercity and intra-urban distributions of activities are given, a higher population density makes cities more ...

Neuromorphic Electronics for Intelligence Everywhere: Emerging Devices, Flexible Platforms, and Scalable System Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The perspective presents an integrated view of neuromorphic technologies, from device physics to real‐time applicability, while highlighting the necessity of full‐stack co‐optimization. By outlining practical hardware‐level strategies to exploit device behavior and mitigate non‐idealities, it shows pathways for building efficient, scalable, and ...

Far‐Infrared Hyperbolic Phonon–Polaritons in Zirconium Disulfide

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An unpatterned ZrS2${\rm ZrS}_2$ flake, coupled to far‐field infrared light by metal nanoribbons, reveals hyperbolic phonon polaritons with multiple higher‐order branches and effective refractive indices up to 223. This resonator‐assisted approach establishes ZrS2${\rm ZrS}_2$ as a compact van der Waals platform for deeply subwavelength far‐infrared ...

Compact City Strategy of Bangkok Mega-City [PDF]

open access: yesMANUSYA, 2008
The objectives of this study encompass three aspects. First, it analyzes the Bangkok Mega-city Model in three subareas around the New Suvarnabhumi International Airport.4 Second, it analyzes the compact city policy to measure factors of the compact city based on affordable transportation costs related to household income, jobhousing balance, and ...

Large cities and their traffic: Spatial aspect [PDF]

open access: yesGlasnik Srpskog Geografskog Društva, 2014
The analysis of the interdependence of transport strategy and the portion of urban land given over to traffic attains its full meaning only in the light of drastically different spatial/physical characteristics of world cities.

Unveiling α‐MoO3 as a High‐Index, Low‐Loss Anisotropic Material: Bridging the Gap From Mid‐Infrared to Ultraviolet Nanophotonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
α‐MoO3 is established as a high‐index, low‐loss anisotropic platform bridging mid‐infrared polaritonics and ultraviolet‐visible nanophotonics. Spectroscopic ellipsometry and calculations reveal refractive indices exceeding 3.9, with the largest in‐plane birefringence among transparent layered crystals at 425–500 nm, enabling zero‐order UV waveplates ...
