Non-embeddability of certain classes of Levi flat manifolds [PDF]
On the basis of a result of Barrett, we show that members of certain classes of abstract Levi flat manifolds with boundary, whose Levi foliation contains a compact leaf with contracting, flat holonomy, admit no $CR$ embedding as a hypersurface of a ...

Collagen hydrolysate is evaluated as a sustainable binder for MgO‐C refractories. Its thermally induced cross‐linking and gas release lead to expansion and cracking in large bricks, but tailored batches with lignin, recyclates, or fine graphite improve the gas release while thermal treatment and stability.

Global and Compact Video Context Embedding for Video Semantic Segmentation
Intuitively, global video context could benefit video semantic segmentation (VSS) if it is designed to simultaneously model global temporal and spatial dependencies for a holistic understanding of the semantic scenes in a video clip.

This study develops sustainable MgO–C refractories using recycled materials and eco‐friendly fructose–tannin binders. The enhanced performance of citric acid as a cross‐linker and functional additives on mechanical and thermomechanical properties was examined. Characterization included strength tests, immersion trials, and microstructural and inclusion

Embedding compact t-semigroups into compact uniquely divisible semigroups
An old question of R. J. Koch is whether every compact semigroup embeds in a compact divisible semigroup. In this paper the authors employ a variety of techniques to extend the previously known positive results to various classes of compact commutative semigroups, called t-semigroups, in which every element lies on a semigroup multiplicatively ...

Highly Transitive Actions of Surface Groups [PDF]
A group action is said to be highly-transitive if it is $k$-transitive for every $k \ge 1$. The main result of this thesis is the following: Main Theorem: The fundamental group of a closed, orientable surface of genus > 1 admits a faithfull, highly ...

Cermets (60 vol.% AISI 316L stainless steel, 40 vol.% recycled MgO), intended for use in aluminum electrolysis, were pre‐oxidized in three furnaces with different heating technologies and subjected to a cryolite corrosion test. The different atmospheres influenced the formation of oxide layers, which in turn affected corrosion resistance and ...

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.
