Data‐driven forecasting of ship motions in waves using machine learning and dynamic mode decomposition

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
Summary Data‐driven forecasting of ship motions in waves is investigated through feedforward and recurrent neural networks as well as dynamic mode decomposition. The goal is to predict future ship motion variables based on past data collected on the field, using equation‐free approaches.

Perfect maps in compact (countably compact) spaces

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1995
In this paper, among other results, characterizations of perfect maps in compact Hausdorff(Fréchet, countably compact, Hausdorff) spaces are obtained.

SIFAT KOMPAK DALAM RUANG HAUSDORFF

open access: yesJurnal Matematika, 2012
The inspiration of the definition of “compactness” comes from the real number system. Closed and bounded sets in the real line were considered as an excellent model to show a generalized version of the compactness in a topological space.

Numerical Studies of Influencing Factors on the Homogeneity of the Powder Mixture during the Powder Spreading Process of Powder Bed Fusion–Laser Beam/Metal

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
AISI 304L stainless steel powder is mixed with silicon nitride (Si3N4) powder and processed by PBF‐LB/M, allowing partial retention of Si3N4. The numerical approach effectively predicts the Si3N4 powder homogeneity and N content distribution on the powder bed. Recent studies have focused on the alloying of nitrogen (N) in high‐alloy stainless steels by

Commutative Topological Semigroups Embedded into Topological Abelian Groups

open access: yesAxioms, 2020
In this paper, we give conditions under which a commutative topological semigroup can be embedded algebraically and topologically into a compact topological Abelian group.

Embeddings into countably compact Hausdorff spaces [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
In this paper we consider the problem of characterization of topological spaces that embed into countably compact Hausdorff spaces. We study the separation axioms of subspaces of countably compact Hausdorff spaces and construct an example of a regular separable scattered topological space which cannot be embedded into an Urysohn countably compact ...

An Automatized Simulation Workflow for Powder Pressing Simulations Using SimStack

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The implementation of Workflow active Nodes (WaNos) for the convenient execution and automated evaluation of discrete element method calculations of powder pressing is showcased. Purposeful combination of WaNos creates timesaving and resource‐effective computational workflows.

Some observations on compact indestructible spaces [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
Inspired by a recent work of Dias and Tall, we show that a compact indestructible space is sequentially compact. We also prove that a Lindelof Hausdorff indestructible space has the finite derived set property and a compact Hausdorff indestructible space is pseudoradial.

Automated Workflow for Phase‐Field Simulations: Unveiling the Impact of Heat‐Treatment Parameters on Bainitic Microstructure in Steel

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, OpenPhase software is used to simulate low‐carbon bainitic steels. The lower holding temperature sample exhibits smaller and finer grains. Grain thickness measurements of bainitic ferrite from simulations align with the experimental observations at high temperature. Bainitic steels are extensively utilized across various sectors, such as
