Embeddable and locatable spinning

open access: yes, 2011
A novel spinning method: embeddable and locatable spinning, is reported for the first time in this paper. Analysis of the key restrictions of the conventional and some novel ring-spinning were studied; evolvement and principles of embeddable and ...

Out‐of‐Plane Strain‐Decoupled Architecture for High‐Fill‐Factor Stretchable OLED Displays

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A vertically decoupled multilayer SOLED architecture separates emissive pixel islands from deformable interconnects, allowing low‐modulus elastomeric layers to accommodate applied strain and suppress strain transfer to the OLED region. This design, combined with transparent hybrid encapsulation, enables a high fill factor (∼75%), stretchability ...

Quality aspects of compact spinning

open access: yes, 2001
The compact or condenser spinning process produces a new yarn structure, which is the result of eliminating the spinning triangle which, in conventional ring spinning, is a potential weak or problem spot which negatively affects spinning stability and ...

Biodegradable 3D‐Printable and Coatable Antifouling Composites for Marine Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Marine biofouling damages submerged surfaces and raises greenhouse gas emissions. Biodegradable antifouling biocomposites were developed by hot‐mixing beeswax, Tween 80, and calcium stearate or stearic acid. Adjusting the component ratio enables processing via hot‐pressing, 3D‐printing, or dip‐coating.

Stochastic Simulation of Hairiness with Compact Spinning Yarn

open access: yes, 2011
Reducing yarn hairiness is the greatest ascendancy for compact spinning. Based on the test of fiber length distribution, the hairiness of compact yarn is simulated in order to study the rule of hairiness producing.

Spinning CNT based composite yarns using a dry spinning process [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A process for manufacturing polymer carbon nanotube (CNT) based composite yarns is reported. The aligned CNT structure was combined with a polymer resin and, after being stressed through the spinning process, the resin was cured and polymerized, with the

A New Strategy for Creating Quantum Light Emitters Via Post‐Growth Hydrogen‐Ion Irradiation of III‐V Nanowires

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A post‐growth method is demonstrated to realize energy‐tunable quantum emitters in GaAs/GaAsN/GaAs core–multishell nanowires on a Si substrate. By combining the N‐induced bandgap reduction with H‐ion irradiation, the GaAsN potential landscape is engineered, enabling isolated, narrow emission lines that function as single‐photon sources with g(2)(0) ∼ 0.

Microfluidic Nano‐Assembly of Red‐Blood‐Cell (RBC) Lipids and Components for Engineering Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Engineered red blood cell‐derived extracellular vesicles (eRBCEVs) are synthesized via controlled microfluidic assembly from native RBC lipids, enabling tunable encapsulation of proteins, nucleic acids, nanoparticles, and viral vectors. The platform demonstrates reproducible nanoscale architecture, preserved membrane composition, and functional cargo ...

Stationary bound-state scalar configurations supported by rapidly-spinning exotic compact objects

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2017
Some quantum-gravity theories suggest that the absorbing horizon of a classical black hole should be replaced by a reflective surface which is located a microscopic distance above the would-be classical horizon.
