On Fuzzy Compactness

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1999
Patterned after the definition of the upper limit of a net of sets in a topological space [cf. \textit{K. Kuratowski}, Topology I (1966; Zbl 0158.40802)], the authors introduce the concept of the upper limit of a net of fuzzy sets in a \(([0,1])\)-fuzzy topological space.

FoxO1 signaling in B cell malignancies and its therapeutic targeting

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FoxO1 has context‐specific tumor suppressor or oncogenic character in myeloid and B cell malignancies. This includes tumor‐promoting properties such as stemness maintenance and DNA damage tolerance in acute leukemias, or regulation of cell proliferation and survival, or migration in mature B cell malignancies.

单位球上βP空间到Zα型空间的加权Cesàro算子(Extended Cesàro operators from βP spaces to Zα spaces on the unit ball)

open access: yesZhejiang Daxue xuebao. Lixue ban, 2013
Boundary and compact of extended Cesàro operators from βP spaces to Zygmund type space in the unit ball are studied. With the methods of functional analysis and several complex variables, the necessary and sufficient conditions are given for extended ...

Making tau amyloid models in vitro: a crucial and underestimated challenge

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review highlights the challenges of producing in vitro amyloid assemblies of the tau protein. We review how accurately the existing protocols mimic tau deposits found in the brain of patients affected with tauopathies. We discuss the important properties that should be considered when forming amyloids and the benchmarks that should be used to ...

Approximating compact and weakly compact operators [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1961
REMARKS. To place the theorem in context consider all operators as mapping the Banach space X into the Banach space Y and consider the topology a to be that of almost uniform convergence on the unit ball of X utilizing the norm topology on Y. The second theorem gives a similar result for weakly compact operators.

The cytoskeletal control of B cell receptor and integrin signaling in normal B cells and chronic lymphocytic leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In lymphoid organs, antigen recognition and B cell receptor signaling rely on integrins and the cytoskeleton. Integrins act as mechanoreceptors, couple B cell receptor activation to cytoskeletal remodeling, and support immune synapse formation as well as antigen extraction.

Quark Stars in Generalized Hybrid Metric-Palatini Gravity [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Astronomy and Astrophysics
We investigate the physical properties of quark stars with two different equations of state in generalized hybrid metric-Palatini gravity. This theory corresponds to a bi-scalar gravitational theory with two non-minimally-coupled scalar fields. The field ...

Social context prevents heat hormetic effects against mutagens during fish development

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study shows that sublethal heat stress protects fish embryos against ultraviolet radiation, a concept known as ‘hormesis’. However, chemical stress transmission between fish embryos negates this protective effect. By providing evidence for the mechanistic molecular basis of heat stress hormesis and interindividual stress communication, this study ...

The inverted U-shaped effect of urban hotspots spatial compactness on urban economic growth [PDF]

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2019
The compact city, as a sustainable concept, is intended to augment the efficiency of urban function. However, previous studies have concentrated more on morphology than on structure. The present study focuses on urban structural elements, i.e.

Interaction vesicles as emerging mediators of host‐pathogen molecular crosstalk and their implications for infection dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interaction extracellular vesicles (iEVs) are hybrid vesicles formed through host‐pathogen communication. They facilitate immune evasion, transfer pathogens' molecules, increase host cell uptake, and enhance virulence. This Perspective article illustrates the multifunctional roles of iEVs and highlights their emerging relevance in infection dynamics ...
