Background Impaired muscle regeneration and increased muscle fibrosis are observed in aged muscle accompanied by progressive loss of muscle mass (sarcopenia). However, the underlying mechanism is still unclear. Methods The differentiated expressed genes in young and aged muscles after acute injury by cardiotoxin were identified by RNA‐sequence analysis.

A Simplified Scheme of Estimation and Cancellation of Companding Noise for Companded Multicarrier Transmission Systems [PDF]
Nonlinear companding transform is an efficient method to reduce the high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of multicarrier transmission systems. However, the introduced companding noise greatly degrades the bit-error-rate (BER) performance of the ...

Root-Based Nonlinear Companding Technique for Reducing PAPR of Precoded OFDM Signals
Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signals are characteristically independent and identically distributed Gaussian random variables that follow Rayleigh distribution. The signals also exhibit high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) problem

On companding techniques for PAPR reduction in DCT SC-FDMA system in the presence of CFOs
In the single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) system, the use of discrete cosine transform (DCT) instead of discrete Fourier transform (DFT) has shown improved bit error rate (BER) performance.

Performance Analysis of the Two-Piecewise Linear Companding Technique on Filtered-OFDM Systems
Filtered orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (F-OFDM) is one of the most prominent waveform candidates when it comes to fifth-generation (5G) wireless communication and beyond.

We introduce a new nonlinear analog optical computing concept that compresses the signal's dynamic range and realizes non-uniform quantization that reshapes and improves the signal-to-noise ratio in the digital domain.

CRLB for joint estimation of TDOA, phase, FDOA, and Doppler rate
To avoid decline of FDOA estimation precision caused by relative Doppler companding, Doppler rate has to be considered and estimated jointly with TDOA, phase, and FDOA. However, CRLB of the joint estimation is still unclear. This study addresses on derivation of the CRLB. First, the joint estimation model is constructed.

Fast Non‐Uniform Quantisation via FP12 Demotion and Constant‐Time Predecessor Tables
A practical constant time per query method for non‐uniform scalar quantisation with static and reused boundaries. Boundaries are demoted to an FP12 universe and indexed with a compact vEB‐style predecessor table, enabling constant‐time lookup independent of the number of bins.
