Exponential Companding Technique for PAPR Reduction in OFDM Systems
IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting, 2005In this paper, a new nonlinear companding technique, called "exponential companding", is proposed to reduce the high Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) signals. Unlike the /spl mu/-law companding scheme, which enlarges only small signals so that increases the average power, the schemes based on ...

IRE Transactions on Communications Systems, 1974
This paper deals with the requirements for the design of digital companding techniques in either delta or pulse-code modulation. Both delta and pulse-code modulation convert analogue signals into binary signals and in both these systems the dynamic range is normally small. By the use of companding, the dynamic range can be extended.

Theoretical Analysis of PAPR Companding Techniques for FBMC Systems
Wireless Personal Communications, 2021The offset quadrature amplitude modulation (OQAM) with filter bank multicarrier (FBMC) has turn on considerable interest in last decades over orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) because of their a significant number of advantages. However, largest peak to average power ratio (PAPR) minimization techniques developed for OFDM systems may ...
