Performance Comparison of Companding-Based PAPR Suppression Techniques in OFDM Systems

2019 8th International Conference on Modern Circuits and Systems Technologies (MOCAST), 2019
The suppression of high peak-to-average-power-ratio (PAPR) values is crucial to the performance of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. High PAPR gives rise to the non-linear clipping-induced harmonic distortions which degrade the end-to-end bit error rate performance.

Integer DCT-based reversible watermarking for images using companding technique

SPIE Proceedings, 2004
We present a high capacity reversible watermarking scheme using companding technique over integer DCT coefficients of image blocks. This scheme takes advantage of integer DCT coefficients' Laplacian-shape-like distribution, which permits low distortion between the watermarked image and the original one caused by the bit-shift operations of the ...

Lossless Data Hiding Based on Companding Technique and Difference Expansion of Triplets

IEICE Transactions on Fundamentals of Electronics, Communications and Computer Sciences, 2007
A reversible data hiding scheme based on the companding technique and the difference expansion (DE) of triplets is proposed in this paper. The companding technique is employed to increase the number of the expandable triplets. The capacity consumed by the location map recording the expanded positions is largely decreased.

PAPR Reduction in MIMO-OFDM Based on Polar Codes and Companding Technique

2019 International Conference on Advanced Communication Technologies and Networking (CommNet), 2019
MIMO-OFDM is a method adopted by new highspeed communications technologies such as IEEE802.11, IEEE 802.16 and 4G. Among the advantages of MIMO-OFDM, its ability to increase the transmission rate, and its adaptation to multipath channel with fading. Unfortunately the signals modulated by the OFDM technique generate high values of Peak-to-Average Power ...

Companding and Pulse shaping technique for PAPR reduction in FBMC systems

2015 International Conference on Control, Instrumentation, Communication and Computational Technologies (ICCICCT), 2015
Multicarrier modulation systems have become a fast growing field in the modern communication field. The most popular multicarrier modulation technique, OFDM has low bandwidth efficiency due to the insertion of cyclic prefix and poor spectral containment and high narrow band interference due to the use of IFFT.

Implementation of Non Linear Companding Technique for Reducing PAPR of OFDM

Materials Today: Proceedings, 2018
Abstract High Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) of transmitted signal is one of the foremost problems to implement Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) System. To transform the OFDM signal into anticipated statistics form that are identified by a linear piecewise function, the new Non-Linear Companding transform (NCT) set of rules is ...

Generalized Trapezoidal Companding Technique for PAPR Reduction in OFDM Systems

Journal of Optical Communications, 2018
AbstractThe main drawback in the performance of the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system is the higher Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) of the OFDM signals at the transmitter side. Companding is a well-known technique useful for reducing PAPR in the OFDM signal. This paper proposes a new nonlinear companding scheme that transforms

PAPR reduction using precoding and companding techniques for OFDM systems

2015 International Conference on Advances in Computer Engineering and Applications, 2015
For multipath propagation systems OFDM provides good choice but also suffers with high peak to average power ratio (PAPR) at the transmitter side. High PAPR values results in non-linearites at transmission leading to complex designing. Therefore reduction of PAPR is necessary for lesser complexities, higher efficiency and greater stability.

A hybrid companding transform technique for PAPR reduction of OFDM signals

2015 13th International Conference on Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility (INCEMIC), 2015
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is an attractive technique for wireless communication applications. However, an OFDM signal has a large Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR), which can result in significant distortion when passed through a nonlinear device, such as a transmitter power amplifier. Number of techniques has been proposed for

New error function companding technique to minimize PAPR in LTE uplink communications

2017 Twenty-third National Conference on Communications (NCC), 2017
Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access (SC-FDMA) has been implemented successfully for uplink communications in 3rd Generation Partnership Project Long Term Evolution. SC-FDMA has low peak to average power ratio (PAPR) in contrast to OFDMA due to lower signal envelope fluctuations in SC-FDMA signal.
