PAPR Reduction in OFDM Systems via Nonlinear Companding Transform

2012 8th International Conference on Wireless Communications, Networking and Mobile Computing, 2012
Companding transform technique is commonly used to reduce the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signals. This paper proposes a novel nonlinear companding transform method. By transforming original signals into a specified distribution while remaining a constant average output power level, this ...

Flexible Nonlinear Companding Transform for Reducing PAPR of Multi-carrier Signals

2014 IEEE International Conference on Computer and Information Technology, 2014
An efficient nonlinear companding transform (NCT) scheme is proposed for reducing the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signals. The proposed new scheme transforms the Gaussian-distributed signals into the specified statistics form based on a piecewise function.

New companding transform for reduction of peak-to-average power ratio

Proceedings IEEE 56th Vehicular Technology Conference, 2003
The paper presents a new peak factor reduction technique. We suggest to use a smooth limiter at the transmitter in order to reduce peak factor of the signal before amplification. The fact that the proposed nonlinear transformation is described by a single-valued function allows us to restore the signal at the receiver.
