Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

A Compositional Analysis for Subset Comparatives

open access: yes, 2019
Subset comparatives (Grant 2013) are amount comparatives in which there exists a set membership relation between the target and the standard of comparison.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

English comparatives in a cross-linguistic perspective [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This book provides a new analysis for the syntax of comparatives, focusing on various deletion phenomena affecting the subclause. In particular, the proposed account shows that Comparative Deletion is merely a surface phenomenon that can be drawn back

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Continuations for Comparatives

open access: yes, 2016
I extend Barker and Shan\u27s (2014) project of finding natural language applications for continuations to another domain in which it is useful, namely comparatives.

DYNAMIC COMPARATIVES IN SERBIAN AND ENGLISH

open access: yes, 2020
Dynamic comparatives are used to express changing intensities of adjectival/adverbial scalar properties in spatial and temporal dimension (Piper 2005).

Rival Forms of Comparatives in Russian

open access: yesPoljarnyj Vestnik: Norwegian Journal of Slavic Studies, 2016
Rival forms, i.e. forms that appear to have the same function, have long been an important issue that many linguists are paying attention to. Rivalry is interesting because it has implications for inter alia variation and language change.
