Quantum Heat Current in Terahertz‐Driven Phonon Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
We develop a quantum mechanical description of ultrafast thermodynamics on the example of a laser‐excited phonon mode. We show that the resulting quantum heat current exhibits non‐Markovian dynamics, which can be controlled by the pulse length. ABSTRACT The advent of high‐intensity ultrafast laser pulses has opened new opportunities for controlling and

Fixed Point Results of Miculescu-Mihail, Mitrović-Hussain, and Boyd-Wong Type in Regular Semimetric Spaces

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics
We establish three types of nonlinear fixed point theorems in regular semimetric spaces. First, we generalize Miculescu and Mihail’s result, thereby unifying the Matkowski fixed point theorem and the Istrăţescu fixed point theorem concerning convex ...

Quantum Phenomena in Molecular and Biological Systems: A Decoherence‐Based Decision Framework With Falsifiable Predictions and a Failure‐Mode Taxonomy

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
A physics‐grounded framework based on decoherence timescales (τ_dec vs τ_func), Markovian validity, and falsifiability criteria is applied across molecular systems to distinguish where quantum effects are necessary, marginal, or irrelevant. The analysis integrates quantum chemistry, biological quantum mechanisms, and quantum computing under a unified ...

Sturm-Picone type theorems for nonlinear differential systems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2015
In this article, we establish a Picone-type inequality for a pair of first-order nonlinear differential systems. By using this inequality, we give Sturm-Picone type comparison theorems for these systems and a special class of second-order half-linear ...

Impedance Spectroscopy of Bifurcation Oscillations in S‐Type Self‐Oscillatory Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
Impedance spectroscopy (IS) reveals stability regimes and bifurcation dynamics in S‐type self‐oscillatory devices. By linking nonlinear control theory with frequency‐domain measurements, experimental signatures of oscillations, entrainment, and phase locking are directly identified.

Afriat’s Theorem for General Budget Sets [PDF]

open access: yes
Afriat (1967) showed the equivalence of the strong axiom of revealed preference and the existence of a solution to a set of linear inequalities. From this solution he constructed a utility function rationalizing the choices of a competitive consumer.

Tooth row allometry in domestic rabbits and nondomestic lagomorphs: Evidence for a decoupling of body and tooth row size changes in evolutionary time

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Domestic rabbits of different body sizes differ disproportionately in the length of their tooth row or the length of their diastema. Abstract In various domestic mammals, smaller breeds tend to have proportionally larger teeth, whereas this is not a universal trend across mammals.

Oscillation of the solution to a singular differential equation

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 1999
Let $u$ be a solution to the initial-value problem {eqnarray*} &u''(t) + frac{N-1}{t}u'(t) + u(t) + u(t)|u(t)|^{4/(N-2)} = 0, quad t in (0,T]& &u(0) = frac {1}{2},quad u' (0) = 0,.

Working with laws, regularities and singularities in biology: The evolution of mammalian red blood cell size as a case study

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Phylogenetic comparative methods have been used in recent literature to work with laws and test for regularities (evolutionary associations of quantitative features) and evolutionary singularities (features that evolved in a single taxon). We analyzed these uses epistemologically, taking the evolution of red‐blood‐cell mean corpuscular volume (
