Polyethylene and Polypropylene Nanocomposites Based on Polymerically - Modified Clay Containing Alkylstyrene Units [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Sodium montmorillonite was modified with a new polymeric surfactant. The high molecular weight of the surfactant appears to have led to incomplete cation exchange of the clays, but did promote nanocomposite formation with polyethylene and polypropylene ...

Albert Bazala’s Compatibilism

open access: yesPrilozi za istraživanje hrvatske filozofske baštine, 2022
In 1910, in the journal Hrvatsko kolo of Matica Hrvatska, Albert Bazala published his article “O slobodi volje” [“On the freedom of the will”], in which he argues for compatibilism between free will and determinism. In this article, I analyze Bazala’s compatibilism.

Effect of different compatibilizers and aluminium hydroxide amount on the thermophysical and thermomechanical properties of polypropylene random copolymer/aluminium hydroxide composites [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society
This study investigates the effects of three different types of commercial available compatibilizers (DuPontTM Fusabond® P353 polymer modifier, ExxelorTM PO 1020, LIBAID T-2) on the thermal properties of composites based on polypropylene random copolymer/

The Blending of EPDM/NR with Maleic Anhydride as Compatibilizer: Comparing the Effect of Accelerators on Cure Characteristic and Mechanical Properties

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Chemistry, 2019
The blending of ethylene propylene diene monomer/natural rubber (EPDM/NR) needs much attention because of their incompatibility. In this work, the influence of accelerator type on cure characteristics and mechanical properties of 60/40 EPDM/NR blend was ...

Local Miracle Compatibilism [PDF]

open access: yesNoûs, 2003
To those people who have not spent much time thinking about the problem of free will, it seems that we frequently have the ability to do otherwise than what we do. Provided I am not subject to any compulsions or coercive forces (addiction, bondage, someone holding a gun to my head, and so on), I am able now to raise my hand, drink some water, read the ...

Anti‐Slip Material‐Based Strategies and Approaches

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This review highlights the principle mechanisms of slipping at the microscale, linking contact mechanics with a friction behavior model for surface interfaces. Main strategies to develop anti‐slip properties to the surfaces are discussed alongside standardized testing approaches.
