Tissue compensation—difference compensators
The British Journal of Radiology, 1982When a patient is treated with beams of ionising radiation, the shape of the patient's surface affects the distribution of absorbed dose received by the irradiated tissue. One way of dealing with the dosimetric problems thus caused is to construct compensating filters designed so that the effect of the patient's shape on the beam is counteracted by the

We demonstrate imaging through human tissue in vivo , using a new optical technique, compensated transillumination. Immersion in a scattering medium with absorption and scattering coefficients matched to the tissue is used for drastic improvement of image contrast. The immersion medium is composed of polymer microspheres and methylene blue dye.

Regulation of the human equilibrium differs from the other, mostly linear, human senses. It consists of a multitude of receptors and an interrelated network that is necessary for data processing as well as for regulatory processes. Thus, the human equilibrium system represents a mixture of hardware and related software interactions.

Home Care Provider, 1997
A great deal has been written about the increase in managed care and its impact, both real and potential, on home health care. Those articles generally have focused on the limitations of managed care related to patient care and patient outcomes--are they better or worse than in traditional Medicare home care?

All practice owners and managers struggle with the concept of "fair compensation." Many factors enter into determining fair compensation. More managers are placing emphasis on production or contributions to the practice in making compensation decisions. Several incentive or bonus programs are discussed.

ABSTRACTCompensation planning within firms creates important corporate financial problems. Theoretical models and empirical tests of hypotheses in this area should play a much larger role than currently in the modern theory of corporate finance. Employees fund a large proportion of their firm's activities through deferred compensation arrangements tied
