Tissue compensation—difference compensators

The British Journal of Radiology, 1982
When a patient is treated with beams of ionising radiation, the shape of the patient's surface affects the distribution of absorbed dose received by the irradiated tissue. One way of dealing with the dosimetric problems thus caused is to construct compensating filters designed so that the effect of the patient's shape on the beam is counteracted by the

Compensated transillumination

Applied Optics, 1999
We demonstrate imaging through human tissue in vivo , using a new optical technique, compensated transillumination. Immersion in a scattering medium with absorption and scattering coefficients matched to the tissue is used for drastic improvement of image contrast. The immersion medium is composed of polymer microspheres and methylene blue dye.

Vestibular Compensation

Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 1994
Regulation of the human equilibrium differs from the other, mostly linear, human senses. It consists of a multitude of receptors and an interrelated network that is necessary for data processing as well as for regulatory processes. Thus, the human equilibrium system represents a mixture of hardware and related software interactions.

ABSTRACTCompensation planning within firms creates important corporate financial problems. Theoretical models and empirical tests of hypotheses in this area should play a much larger role than currently in the modern theory of corporate finance. Employees fund a large proportion of their firm's activities through deferred compensation arrangements tied
