COMPENSATION AND CONTINUITY [PDF]
ABSTRACTThis article examines accounts of the moral basis of compensatory duties that explain such duties as the continuation, in some way, of the pre-wrong normative situation. I identify, contrast, and assess three versions of this view—duty continuity, right continuity, and reasons continuity.

An impedance approach to reduce the contact-instability whilst drilling with active heave compensation [PDF]
The bit-bounce, or contact-instability, phenomenon which occurs in the drill string suspended from a floating vessel with an active drill string compensator to maintain a steady weight on the drill bit is investigated.

Single-phase power shunt active filter design using photovoltaic as reactive power compensator
Introduction. The rapid production of electronic equipment circulating and used by the public has resulted in a decline in the power quality in the power system. The goal of the article is to build a parallel active filter for reactive power compensation

Matrix compensation and diagonal compensation
Let \(A\) be a symmetric positive definite matrix which is decomposed as \(A=B+R\) in some natural way. Typically \(B\) has a special sparsity pattern and \(R\) can be considered as a ``rest''. A matrix \(D\) is called a compensative matrix of \(R\) if \(D-R\) is positive semidefinite. Now define \(M=B+D\), so \(M\) is a compensative matrix of \(A\). \(

RBF Neural Network Fusion Disturbance Estimation for Robust Synchronization of Chaotic Systems
This paper addresses the problem of complete synchronization of chaotic systems subject to external disturbances and parameter uncertainties, proposing a robust control strategy based on radial basis function (RBF) neural network fusion with a ...
