How Should Translation Competence Be Taught: a Quest for a Better Approach in Translation Class [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
It is widely agreed that the main aim of translation education is to develop students' translation competence, therefore most researches in translation education contexts focus on identifying the components of transla-tion competence and appropriate ...

Mechanoregulatory Effects of Cell‐Scale Microwells on Epithelial Cell Phenotype

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In small polycaprolactone microwells, A549 epithelial cells span well edges, in contrast to cells growing on flat substrates. Focal adhesion sites (yellow) concentrate at topographic boundaries, while cytoskeletal tension (magenta stress fibers) is transmitted to the nucleus (blue), reducing nuclear sphericity.

Bio‐Inspired Magnetically Tunable Structural Colors from Elliptical Self‐Assembled Block Copolymer Microparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cephalopod‐inspired photonic microparticles with dynamic structural coloration are fabricated via confined self‐assembly of linear block copolymers into ellipsoids containing stacked lamellae. Embedded superparamagnetic nanoparticles enable rapid magnetic alignment, restoring vivid, angle‐dependent color.

Gendered Habitus in Engineering: Experiences of Brazilian Students [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This paper discusses the ways in which an ‘engineering habitus’, that in the first instance presents itself as a predominantly masculinized habitus - because its inclinations, competences and dispositions are homologous to the cultural repertoire ...

Poly(lactic‐co‐glycolic acid) Nanoparticles for IL‐12 Self‐Amplifying RNA Delivery in Glioblastoma Models

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
xxxx. ABSTRACT Glioblastoma (GBM) remains one of the most lethal brain cancers, with median survival rarely exceeding 15 months after diagnosis. Interleukin‐12 (IL‐12) is a potent immunostimulatory cytokine capable of reshaping the tumor microenvironment (TME), yet its clinical translation is hindered by systemic toxicity and short half‐life. RNA‐based

Color Routing and Beam Steering of Single‐Molecule Emission with a Spherical Silicon Nanoantenna

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We experimentally demonstrate broadband directional emission from single molecules using a single spherical silicon nanoparticle assembled via DNA origami. By varying nanoparticle (NP) size and emitter position, we achieve unidirectional emission, beam steering, and color routing at the nanoscale, revealing modal interference as the underlying ...
