Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Competitive Bidding Behavior in Uniform-Price Auction Markets [PDF]

open access: yes
Profit-maximizing bidding in uniform price auction markets involves bidding above marginal cost. It therefore is not surprising that such behavior is observed in electricity markets.

Universal Behavior of the Coefficients of the Continuous Equation in Competitive Growth Models

open access: yes, 2004
The competitive growth models involving only one kind of particles (CGM), are a mixture of two processes one with probability $p$ and the other with probability $1-p$. The $p-$dependance produce crossovers between two different regimes.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

A 100 GHz Josephson mixer using resistively-shunted Nb tunnel junctions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
The authors describe preliminary mixer results using resistively shunted Nb/AlOx/Nb tunnel junctions in a 100-GHz waveguide mixer mount. The mixer utilizes robust, lithographically defined devices which have nonhysteretic I-V curves.

Competitive models behaviors

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Modern forms of organization of activities have led to the need for strategic management of industrial business. The complexity and uncertainty of the external environment have of strategic partnership. The implemented cooperation strategy creates conditions for the integration of economic interests. Competition limits the growth of prices and promotes

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Differential effects of exposure to cooperative versus competitive games on sharing behavior in young children

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychiatry
BackgroundPrevious research has documented a relationship between prosocial video games and prosocial behaviors. However, there has been much less evidence on the potential effects of real-life prosocial games.
