Competitive Facility Location along a Highway [PDF]
We consider a competitive facility location problem with two players.Pla yers alternate placing points, one at a time, into the playing arena, until each of them has placed n points. The arena is then subdivided according to the nearest-neighbor rule, and the player whose points control the larger area wins.W e present a winning strategy for the second ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

An Exploration of Evolutionary Algorithms for a Bi-objective Competitive Facility Location Problem in Congested Systems [PDF]
This paper presents a bi-objective competitive facility location model for congested systems in which entering facilities will compete with the competitors’ facilities for capturing the market share.

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Huff-type competitive facility location model with foresight in a discrete space [PDF]
Consider a chain as leader that wants to open p new facilities in a linear market, like metro. In this market, there is a competitor, called follower. The leader and the follower have established some facilities in advance.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

On a branch-and-bound approach for a Huff-like Stackelberg location problem
Modelling the location decision of two competing firms that intend to build a new facility in a planar market can be done by a Huff-like Stackelberg location problem.

Determination of the thermal hotel location: application of analytic hierarchy process
Purpose – In recent years, as other sectors, there is an increasing trend of competition in thermal hotel sector. The aim of this study is to determine the importance of the factors on thermal hotel location via Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP).
