Complementarity and the algebraic structure of 4-level quantum systems

open access: yes, 2008
The history of complementary observables and mutual unbiased bases is reviewed. A characterization is given in terms of conditional entropy of subalgebras. The concept of complementarity is extended to non-commutative subalgebras.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Planning of High Renewable-Penetrated Distribution Systems Considering Complementarity and Cluster Partitioning

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
Photovoltaic (PV) and wind power (WT) resources can influence each other in some scenarios, and this influence tends to show that the rise of PV resources may indicate the drop of WT resources, and vice versa.

On linear complementarity systems

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems. I, Fundamental Theory and Applications, 1999
A new method is proposed to solve dynamic linear complementary systems. To this class of systems belong all electrical piecewise linear (PL) dynamic networks. The method uses numerical integration methods to transform the original problem into a static standard linear complementary problem (LCP) that needs to be solved for each time step period.

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

LABELING OF N-DIMENSIONAL IMAGES WITH CHOOSABLE ADJACENCY OF THE PIXELS

open access: yesImage Analysis and Stereology, 2011
The labeling of discretized image data is one of the most essential operations in digital image processing. The notions of an adjacency system of pixels and the complementarity of two such systems are crucial to guarantee consistency of any labeling ...
