Complementary Metamaterials Based Broadband Bandpass Terahertz Filter

2019 Workshop on Recent Advances in Photonics (WRAP), 2019
We examine theoretically the broadband effects for terahertz frequency domain using complimentary resonators based metamaterials. The simulated outcomes clearly show broadband transparency window when operated in transmission mode.

Spatial filtering with complementary source-pupil masks

Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 1985
A variety of spatial-filtering tasks can be performed with an incoherent source and various source and pupil masks {a technique proposed by Rhodes and Koizumi [ Proceedings of the Tenth International Optical Computing Conference ( Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, New York, 1983), p. 32] for image enhancement}.

On the design of complementary filters

ICASSP '79. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005
An algorithm is presented for synthesizing lowpass and highpass filters with identical phase transfer functions and such that the sum of the corresponding amplitude transfer functions is identically 1.0. The design procedure is based on model lowpass filters such as Butterworth, Chebychev, or elliptic.

Wideband and UWB filters with complementary couplings

2012 Asia Pacific Microwave Conference Proceedings, 2012
New type of direct-coupled resonator filter with complementary couplings is analyzed and described. Complementary couplings are capacitive (electric) and inductive (magnetic) couplings used together in one filter. Capacitive and inductive effects complement each other in terms of frequency dependence.

Power complementary and linear phase filter banks

Proceedings of ISCAS'95 - International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2002
We show a necessary and sufficient condition for power complementary and linear phase filter banks. As a design example, a 3 channel such filter bank is presented.

A Complementary Predictor for Collaborative Filtering

2015
Recommender systems provide users with personalized suggestions for products or services. Collaborative Filtering (CF) is a method commonly used in recommender systems to establish a connection between users and products by analyzing past transactions.

Complementary Filter Design for Attitude Determination

2018 IEEE 5th International Conference on Methods and Systems of Navigation and Motion Control (MSNMC), 2018
The report deals with the complementary filter in an arbitrarily located reference coordinate system, which may be due to the specific functioning of the device. The influence of the structure of the transfer function of the controller in the correction channel from the accelerometer to the static accuracy of the complementary filter is analyzed.

UAV State Estimation Using Adaptive Complementary Filters

IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, 2016
We address the complete state estimation problem of unmanned aerial vehicles, even under high-dynamic 3-D aerobatic maneuvers, while using low-cost sensors with bias variations and higher levels of noise. In such conditions, the control demand, for a robust real-time data fusion filter with minimal lag and noise, is addressed with the efficiency of a ...

A gyroless adaptation of attitude complementary filtering

2019 18th European Control Conference (ECC), 2019
This article proposes a methodology for estimating the attitude of a rigid body from vector measurements only, i.e. without gyrometers. Classically, two vector measurements are enough to determine the attitude of a rigid body, through an algebraic calculation which is sometimes considered as computationally costly or tedious to implement.

Complementary filtering in the central nervous system

Transactions of the Institute of Measurement and Control, 1984
Complementary filtering theory is used to explain the behaviour of three mammalian reflexes, all concerned with the measurement of head angular movement and with reflex control of eye movements. A short explanation of complementary filtering theory is followed by a discussion of the vestibulo-ocular reflex.
