Compact Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) Bandpass Filter With Complementary Split-Ring Resonators (CSRRs)

IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, 2010
A novel cross-coupled bandpass filter using new substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) resonators is presented. The resonator is built up by a SIW cavity loaded with a complementary split-ring resonator (CSRR) on its top metal plane. The resonant modes of the proposed resonator are analyzed, with the Q-factor of the dominant mode also extracted.

A compact microstrip antenna with improved bandwidth using Complementary Split-Ring Resonator (CSRR) loading

2007 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2007
In this paper, we investigate a microstrip patch antenna on a dielectric substrate with CSRRs employed in the ground plane, and examine the resonant frequency, impedance bandwidth, and radiation characteristics. The comparison of the impedance bandwidth between the microstrip patch antenna on a conventional high permittivity substrate and with the CSRR

A Compact Balanced Quad-band BPF Based on Coupled Complementary Split-Ring Resonators (C-CSRRs)

2019 8th Asia-Pacific Conference on Antennas and Propagation (APCAP), 2019
By adding multiple coupled complementary split-ring resonators (C-CSRRs) into balanced stepped-impedance microstrip-slotline transition structures, a balanced quad-band bandpass filter (BPF) is proposed in this paper. The proposed C-CSRR consistes of four nested CSRRs, which can realize a quad-band bandpass response.

Estimation of conductive losses in complementary split ring resonator (CSRR) loading an embedded microstrip line and applications

2017 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium (IMS), 2017
In this paper, a simple method to estimate the conductive losses in complementary split ring resonators (CSRRs) is proposed. It is based on the measurement of the transmission coefficient (insertion loss) in an embedded microstrip line with the CSRR under consideration etched in the ground plane, beneath the conductor strip.

Improved compact microstrip low pass filter with novel distributions of complementary split ring resonators (CSRRs)

2009 Asia Pacific Microwave Conference, 2009
In this contribution, the coupling characteristics of three novel coupling structures for double CSRRs are applied. Firstly the concept of complementary split ring resonators (CSRRs) is utilized to improve the selectivity of a microwave low pass filter (LPF). To this end, a step-impedance low-pass filter (SILPF) is first optimized and then built.

New Left Handed Microstrip Lines with Complementary Split Rings Resonators (CSRRs) Etched in the Signal Strip

2007 IEEE/MTT-S International Microwave Symposium, 2007
In this work, left handed (LH) microstrip lines with complementary split rings resonators (CSRRs) and series capacitive gaps, both etched in the upper metal level (signal strip), are presented for the first time. Contrarily to previous implementations of CSRR-based LH or negative permittivity microstrip lines, where the CSRRs were etched in the ground ...
