Complete Hydatidiform Mole and Surviving Coexistent Twin
Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey, 1996Twin gestations consisting of a complete hydatidiform mole and coexisting fetus are rare and associated with an increased risk of persistent gestational trophoblastic tumor. Data were abstracted from 25 well-documented cases from the literature to which we added an additional case.

Molecular genetic analysis of complete hydatidiform moles
Cancer Genetics and Cytogenetics, 1991Complete hydatidiform moles (CHM) are the most common form of gestational trophoblastic disease and a frequent antecedent to choriocarcinoma. Cytogenetic investigations into the origin of these tumors have shown that they can arise by virtue of unusual fertilization events. In this study we used molecular genetic "fingerprinting" methods to examine the

Invasive Complete Hydatidiform Moles
International Journal of Gynecological Pathology, 2016Complete hydatidiform moles (CHM) are purely androgenetic conceptions, with most (∼85%) arising from fertilization of an egg lacking maternal DNA by a single sperm that duplicates (homozygous/monospermic 46,XX) and a small subset arising via fertilization by 2 sperms (heterozygous/dispermic 46,XY or 46,XX).

Complete hydatidiform mole in Hawaii: An epidemiological study
Genetic Epidemiology, 1984AbstractAn analysis of hydatidiform moles occurring in Hawaii over a 14‐year period (1968–1981) was undertaken. The pathology of all 278 reported molar pregnancies was reviewed and showed 69.4% to be complete, 24.5% to be partial, and 6.1% to be nonmolar.A case‐control epidemiological investigation of the complete moles showed maternal age and race to ...

Preevacuation Serum CA 125 in Complete Hydatidiform Mole
Gynecologic Oncology, 1997Studies on CA 125 in hydatidiform mole are limited. The objective of this study was to measure the preevacuation serum CA 125 level in patients with complete hydatidiform mole and to determine whether it could predict the later development of persistent trophoblastic disease.

Complete Hydatidiform Mole: Clinicopathologic Features
1987The trophoblast may be regarded as the first organ of the developing zygote endowed from the start with a rich repertoire of functions.1,2 Its characteristic product, human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), becomes ascertainable in the maternal circulation at the time of implantation, about a week after fertilization.3 Several steroid hormones, placental ...
