The asymptotic lift of a completely positive map

open access: yesJournal of Functional Analysis, 2007
Starting with a unit-preserving normal completely positive map L: M --> M acting on a von Neumann algebra - or more generally a dual operator system - we show that there is a unique reversible system : N --> N (i.e., a complete order automorphism of a dual operator system N) that captures all of the asymptotic behavior of L, called the {\em ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Sonic boom research [PDF]

open access: yes
A computer program for CDC 6600 is developed for the nonlinear sonic boom analysis including the asymmetric effect of lift near the vertical plane of symmetry. The program is written in FORTRAN 4 language.

Toward Optimal Multi-Agent Robot and Lift Schedules via Boolean Satisfiability

open access: yesMathematics
As a multirobot system grows in its number of agents, contention over shared resources poses a more significant risk of deadlock and operational deficiencies. When integrating with buildings, one of the most common pieces of equipment that robots have to

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Levitation of posteriorly dislocated intraocular lens: I.V. catheter connected to the vitreotome aspiration

open access: yesFrontiers in Ophthalmology
BackgroundTo introduce a new, simple, and affordable technique that uses a 22G intravenous (I.V.) catheter connected to the vitreotome aspiration to lift the intraocular lens (IOLs) off the retina.MethodsThis retrospective, non-comparative, single ...
