Mitogenome and Nuclear-encoded Fungicide-target Genes of Thecaphora frezii - Causal Agent of Peanut Smut [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Background: Thecaphora frezii Carranza and Lindquist causes smut disease in peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) resulting in up to 35% yield losses. Fungicides have shown ineffective in controlling the disease; whereas research on the molecular basis of that ...

Complete vertebrate mitogenomes reveal widespread repeats and gene duplications [PDF]

open access: yesGenome Biology, 2021
Abstract Background Modern sequencing technologies should make the assembly of the relatively small mitochondrial genomes an easy undertaking. However, few tools exist that address mitochondrial assembly directly. Results

The complete mitogenome of Mycosphaerella pinodes (Ascomycota, Mycosphaerellaceae) [PDF]

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA Part B, 2016
In this study, the complete mitochondrial genome of plant pathogenic fungus, Mycosphaerella pinodes, was sequenced. The nucleotide composition of the genome is: 36.0% of A, 15.0% of C, 14.6% of G and 34.5% of T. The mitochondrial genome is 55 973 bp in length and consists of 11 protein-coding genes, two ribosomal RNAs and 25 tRNA genes.

Complete mitochondrial genome and phylogenetic analysis of Ixodes persulcatus (taiga tick)

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources, 2017
Ixodes persulcatus is a species of hard tick which is a predominant tick species that spreads a wide array of serious human and animal pathogens. Here, we first assemble the complete mitogenome of I. persulcatus of China.

Selection and environmental adaptation along a path to speciation in the Tibetan frog Nanorana parkeri. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Tibetan frogs, Nanorana parkeri, are differentiated genetically but not morphologically along geographical and elevational gradients in a challenging environment, presenting a unique opportunity to investigate processes leading to speciation. Analyses of

The complete mitochondrial genome of the Cyphastrea serailia

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources, 2017
In this study, the complete mitogenome sequence of stony coral, Cyphastrea serailia (Scleractinia), has been decoded for the first time by next-generation sequencing and genome assembly.

Fixation of genetic variation and optimization of gene expression: The speed of evolution in isolated lizard populations undergoing Reverse Island Syndrome [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The ecological theory of island biogeography suggests that mainland populations should be more genetically divergent from those on large and distant islands rather than from those on small and close islets.

Complete mitogenome of Nemacheilus subfusca (Cypriniformes: Cobitidae)

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA Part B, 2016
The Nemacheilus subfusca (N. subfusca) is a species of the Noemacheilinae in the Cobitidae family, which has been few reported. The first complete mitochondrion of the N. subfusca is 16 585 bp in length, containing 13 protein-coding genes, two rRNA genes (12S and 16S rRNA), 22 tRNA genes and a control region (D-loop region).

The complete mitogenome of Smith’s shrew (Chodsigoa smithii) [PDF]

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA Part B, 2019
The Smith's shrew (Chodsigoa smithii) belongs to subfamily Soricinae, which is an endemic shrew to China. In this study, we obtained the complete mitochondrial genome of the C. smithii. This mitogenome is a circular molecule with 17,108 bp in length, containing 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA genes, two ribosome RNA genes, one light strand ...

Statistical Evaluation of Monophyly in the ‘Broad-Nosed Weevils’ through Molecular Phylogenetic Analysis Combining Mitochondrial Genome and Single-Locus Sequences (Curculionidae: Entiminae, Cyclominae, and Hyperinae) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Establishing well-supported monophyletic groups is a key requirement for producing a natural classification that reflects evolutionary descent. In a phylogenetic framework this is best achieved through dense taxon sampling and the analysis of a robust ...
