Concavities, negative parts, and the perception that shapes are complete
When we perceive the shape of an object, we can often make many other inferences about the object, derived from its shape. For example, when we look at a bitten apple, we perceive not only the local curvatures across the surface, but also that the shape of the bitten region was caused by forcefully removing a piece from the original shape (excision ...

The Complete Structure of the Mycobacterium smegmatis 70S Ribosome.
The ribosome carries out the synthesis of proteins in every living cell. It consequently represents a frontline target in anti-microbial therapy. Tuberculosis ranks among the leading causes of death worldwide, due in large part to the combination of ...

A Bibliometric Analysis of Publications in Uremic Toxins From 1991 to 2024
ABSTRACT Background Uremic toxins are a growing area of research in nephrology, with significant implications in the progression and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the management of end‐stage kidney disease (ESKD). This bibliometric analysis aims to evaluate the global research trends, key contributors, and the impact of publications in ...

Simulation and optimization of rectenna systems
In this paper, we present an entirely simulation-based method to predict the performance of a complete rectenna system that includes all its components: the receiving antenna, the matching circuits between the antenna and the rectification circuit, and ...

We construct new half-BPS line defects in 3d N = 2 $$ \mathcal{N}=2 $$ supersymmetric quiver gauge theories whose Higgs branches are complete flag manifolds X = Fl(n). Upon circle compactification, the bulk theory flows to a non-linear sigma model (NLSM)

On some third parts of nearly complete digraphs
The authors proceed with their investigation of third and near-third parts of complete digraphs [see Combinatorica 18, No.~3, 413-424 (1998; Zbl 0924.05052)]. Neat new results concerning mainly the complete digraphs with \(5\) and with \(9+6k\), \(k\in\{0,1,\dots \}\) vertices are presented.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

On Incidence Coloring of Complete Multipartite and Semicubic Bipartite Graphs
In the paper, we show that the incidence chromatic number χi of a complete k-partite graph is at most Δ + 2 (i.e., proving the incidence coloring conjecture for these graphs) and it is equal to Δ + 1 if and only if the smallest part has only one vertex ...
