The Dynamics of Complex Functions [PDF]
Many interesting and beautiful results in dynamics are seen in the realm of complex functions. In the last two chapters of this text we examine Newton’s method for complex functions and the dynamics of the quadratic map qc(z) = z2 + c when z is complex. Both of these subjects yield interesting mathematics, as well as beautiful illustrations.

Functions of a Complex Variable
2004In earlier chapters, complex-valued functions appeared in connection with Fourier series expansions. In this context, while the function assumes complex values, the argument of the function is real-valued. There is a highly developed theory of (complex-valued) functions of a complex-valued argument. This theory contains some remarkably powerful results

Functions of a Complex Variable
2018The first problems in this Chapter present a survey of the basic properties of analytic functions of a complex variable, of their powers series expansions (Taylor-Laurent series), of their singularities, including branch points and cut lines. As an application, the evaluation of many types of integrals by complex variable methods is proposed.
