Many interesting and beautiful results in dynamics are seen in the realm of complex functions. In the last two chapters of this text we examine Newton’s method for complex functions and the dynamics of the quadratic map qc(z) = z2 + c when z is complex. Both of these subjects yield interesting mathematics, as well as beautiful illustrations.
