On the chemistry of hydrides of N atoms and O$^+$ ions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Previous work by various authors has suggested that the detection by Herschel/HIFI of nitrogen hydrides along the low density lines of sight towards G10.6-0.4 (W31C) cannot be accounted for by gas-phase chemical models.

Metallic Hydrides I: Hydrogen Storage and Other Gas-Phase Applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
A brief survey is given of the various classes of metal alloys and compounds that are suitable for hydrogen-storage and energy-conversion applications.

The impact of carbon materials on the hydrogen storage properties of light metal hydrides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The safe and efficient storage of hydrogen is still one of the remaining challenges towards fuel cell powered cars. Metal hydrides are a promising class of materials as they allow the storage of large amounts of hydrogen in a small volume at room ...

Probing Reactivity of Gold Atoms with Acetylene and Ethylene with VUV Photoionization Mass Spectrometry and Ab Initio Studies. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Reaction of gold atoms with acetylene and ethylene in a laser ablation source produces a number of gold-containing species. Their photoionization efficiency (PIE) curves are measured using tunable vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) radiation at the Advanced Light ...

Accessing the main-group metal formyl scaffold through CO-activation in beryllium hydride complexes

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
Stoichiometric carbon monoxide insertion processes leading to metal-formyl complexes are scarce, even for transition metals. Here, light is shed on the underexplored chemistry of beryllium hydrides leading to a stable example of a main group metal-formyl

Combined Effect of Halogenation and SiO2 Addition on the Li-Ion Conductivity of LiBH4

open access: yesInorganics, 2023
In this work, the combined effects of anion substitution (with Br− and I−) and SiO2 addition on the Li-ion conductivity in LiBH4 have been investigated. Hexagonal solid solutions with different compositions, h-Li(BH4)1−α(X)α (X = Br, I), were prepared by

Prediction of high-Tc conventional superconductivity in the ternary lithium borohydride system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We investigate the superconducting ternary lithium borohydride phase diagram at pressures of 0 and 200 GPa using methods for evolutionary crystal structure prediction and linear-response calculations for the electron-phonon coupling.

Complex Hydrides – When Powder Diffraction needs Help

open access: yesCHIMIA, 2014
'Real life' energy-related materials such as solid-state hydrogen storage compounds or components of electrochemical cells are usually polycrystalline, poorly crystallized, highly reactive and dynamic systems.

Alkyl and hydride-olefin complexes of niobocene [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Organometallic Chemistry, 1980
Reactions of Cp2NbCl2 with RMgCl (R = n-C3H7, i-C3H7, n-C4H9, s-C4H9 and n-C5H11) give niobocene hydride olefin complexes Cp2Nb(H)L (L = C3H6, C4H8 and C5H10). The last step of the reaction probably proceeds via a stereospecific β-H elimination from the monoalkyl species Cp2NbR.
