Complex Organic Interstellar Molecules

Annual Review of Astronomy and Astrophysics, 2009
Of the over 150 different molecular species detected in the interstellar and circumstellar media, approximately 50 contain 6 or more atoms. These molecules, labeled complex by astronomers if not by chemists, all contain the element carbon and so can be called organic. In the interstellar medium, complex molecules are detected in the denser sources only.

Dynamic supramolecular complexation by shapeshifting organic molecules

Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry, 2009
The synthesis of bisporphyrin bullvalene 1 enabled explorations of its supramolecular complexation with C(60), revealing a dynamic network of interconverting complexes.

Zirconocene Complexes of Unsaturated Organic Molecules: New Vehicles for Organic Synthesis

Science, 1993
Transition metals are known to stabilize high-energy species and to activate otherwise unreactive ones. The zirconocene unit stabilizes highly strained alkynes and alkenes, allowing their use in selective carbon-carbon bond-forming reactions.
