Complex permittivity measurements of two conifers

IGARSS'97. 1997 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium Proceedings. Remote Sensing - A Scientific Vision for Sustainable Development, 2002
Complex permittivity measurements in the frequency range 1-10 GHz of two conifers, a 5.0 m high Balsam fir and a 1.9 m high spruce, are presented. With the large amount of measurement data it is possible to establish representative average values for the various parts of the considered trees.

Complex Permittivity and Dipole Correlations

1974
The relation of Glarum between macroscopic and microscopic relaxation functions has been derived by molecular response function theory, with effects of induced polarization included. A modified form of Zwanzig’s theory of rotational diffusion of interacting dipoles, based on Kirkwood’s theory of transport processes, is shown to give correlation ...

Complex permittivity measurements of chicken blood

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2003
AbstractThe basic dielectric properties of biological materials are required for the development of next‐generation microwave‐based medical instrumentation. The purpose of this paper is to further the study of the properties of blood using several different commonly used measurement methods.

Measurement of complex permittivity of liquid dielectrics

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2002
AbstractThe complex permittivity of a number of liquid dielectrics has been measured with the use of the in‐waveguide technique at the X and Ku band. The TRL calibration procedure is applied for the calibration of the waveguide system. The measured results of permittivity of distilled water agree well with those published in the literature.

Six-port Complex Permittivity Measurements

2006 European Microwave Conference, 2006
This paper describes a new method of measuring the complex relative permittivity epsiv* of high-loss and low-loss materials up to the L-band in the microwave range, based on the six-port technique. The novel feature of this method is the determination of epsiv* directly from the intersection of three circles in the complex epsiv*-plane.

Complex Permittivity Models of Composite Dielectrics

2007 IEEE International Conference on Solid Dielectrics, 2007
This paper deals with analytical simulations of behaviour of loss frequency-dependent composite dielectric. Several equations of dielectric mixture theory were verified and the results were compared with measured values of these materials, which were prepared in good accord with the theoretical model. The studied dielectric spectroscopy frequency range

Conditions and approximations for retrieving the complex permittivity and conductivity from the effective permittivity

2023
The electromagnetic characterization of materials, also known as dielectric spectroscopy, plays a key role in many applications. Its aim is to return either the effective permittivity or the effective conductivity over frequency for a sample of the material under investigation.

Complex permittivity measurements in adaptive microwave complex

2011
Complex permittivity measurement issues are under review in this work. After considering of all existing methods it was decided to choose one of them, that according to the expert point of view is the most perspective one for usage in microwave technological complex which are performing temperature and microwave processing of oil-inwater emulsion ...

Extended Mixing Rule to Complex Permittivity

Journal of the Korean Ceramic Society, 2003
Various types of equation for mixing rule on permittivity of mixture have been proposed, but none of these is not perfect because of the inconsistency between the actual geometrical configuration and the basic model for calculation. Serial model and parallel model are lower and upper extremes of mixing manner, the apparent permittivity of any other ...
