Complex permittivity measurements in adaptive microwave complex

2011
Complex permittivity measurement issues are under review in this work. After considering of all existing methods it was decided to choose one of them, that according to the expert point of view is the most perspective one for usage in microwave technological complex which are performing temperature and microwave processing of oil-inwater emulsion ...

Simple Nondestructive Method for the Measurement of Complex Permittivity

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 1974
A simple nondestructive method is presented for the measurement of the complex permittivity ?r of materials. The reflection coefficient ? of a flanged open-ended rectangular waveguide placed, next to a flat large sample is computed by a variational method as a function of the dielectric constant.

Measuring complex permittivity with the six-port technique

SBMO/IEEE MTT-S International Conference on Microwave and Optoelectronics, 2005., 2006
This paper presents a novel circuit to measure the complex dielectric constant /spl epsi/* based on the six-port principle. Its most attractive feature resides in the fact that calibration procedure avoids liquids or granulated material of known permittivities as calibration standards. Instead, conventional loads (short-circuits) are used.

Microwave measurements of the complex permittivities and permeabilities of magnetodielectrics

Measurement Techniques, 1996
A method is proposed for determining complex permittivities ɛ* and permeabilities μ* by analyzing the interaction of a plane electromagnetic wave with a plane-parallel sample in free space. Results of the method are presented.

Versatile cell for complex permittivity measurements on liquids

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1999
A disk type guarded measurement cell is described, which permits the determination of the complex permittivity of liquids with an accuracy of 0.5% or better. The cell has small residual circuit elements (4 nH and 20 mΩ) and behaves like an ideal capacitor for radius-to-electrode spacing ratios ranging from 15 to 135.

Complex Permittivity Measurement Based on Transmitted Power

2019 IEEE Indian Conference on Antennas and Propogation (InCAP), 2019
This paper presents a novel complex permittivity measurement using transmitted-power function enforced at multiple frequencies. The method can easily retrieve the dielectric constants of low-loss and lossy materials utilizing the transmitted power without the need for phase information.

Measurement of complex permittivity of liquid at V band

2004 Asia-Pacific Radio Science Conference, 2004. Proceedings., 2005
It is well known that a dielectric constant is essential and has frequency dispersion. So, great numbers of dielectric constant measurement methods have been studied at many frequency bands. Recently, commercial frequency bands have shifted to higher frequency regions.

Measurement of Complex Permittivity of Asphalt Pavement Materials

Journal of Transportation Engineering, 1999
To facilitate applications of road penetration radar and other nondestructive testing technologies on roads, an apparatus was developed for the measurement of complex permittivity of construction materials. The system consists of an automatic network analyzer, a sample holder, coaxial cable connections, and data processing software.

Measurement of complex permittivity of liquids at microwave frequencies

Journal of Physics E: Scientific Instruments, 1969
The effect of lossy short-circuiting plungers in permittivity measurements involving variable line lengths is discussed. It is shown that, in some cases, neglecting the resistive component of such plungers can lead to errors as high as 20% for the dielectric loss.

Resonant method for measurement of complex permittivity of wine

2008 18th International Crimean Conference - Microwave & Telecommunication Technology, 2008
The method of the capillary-waveguide resonance for measurement of dielectric characteristics of wine over the range of frequencies 54 -78 GHz was used. The influence of concentrations of alcohol in wine on frequency, Q-factor and depth of the energy absorption at resonance was investigated.
