Abstract We review the construction and use of complex potentials in reactive scattering and other molecular collisions to calculate continuum quantities (such as state-to-state transition probabilities, cumulative reaction probabilities, or resonance characteristics) with finite grid or finite basis methods.

Tourism Management, 1992
Abstract The potential and complexity of marketing Jordan internationally are discussed. Although Jordan has been at peace for over two decades, uncontrollable regional conflicts affect the number of international tourists that Jordan is capable of attracting.

Phase-Equivalent Complex Potentials
Nuclear Physics A, 1996Potentials providing the same complex phase shifts as a given complex potential but with a shallower real part are constructed with supersymmetric transformations. Successive pairs of transformations eliminate normalizable solutions corresponding to complex eigenvalues of the Schrodinger equation with the full complex potential.

On Complex Potentials in Micropolar Elasticity
ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, 1971AbstractThe aim of this paper is to investigate the possibility of the use of the theory of micropolar continua in the analysis of microcracks. As an initial step of the microfracture mechanics, the complex variable technique of the classical theory of elasticity is extended to the micropolar elasticity. The first fundamental problem of Muskhelishvili,

On the Complexity of Finding a Potential Community
2017An independent 2-clique of a graph is a subset of vertices that is an independent set and such that any two vertices inside have a common neighbor outside. In this paper, we study the complexity of finding an independent 2-clique of maximum size in several graph classes and we compare its complexity with the complexity of maximum independent set.

Apicomplexan parasites include some of the most important pathogens, such as Plasmodium spp., the causative agent of malaria, or Toxoplasma gondii, the causative agent of toxoplasmosis. As obligate intracellular parasites, Apicomplexa invade host cells in an active process, where they replicate within a parasitophorous vacuole, followed by egress and ...

On the adiabatic potential of a complex system
physica status solidi (b), 1968AbstractThe energy of an electronic state of a complex system, consisting of a number of interacting subsystems, is considered. The interaction of these subsystems is taken as a perturbation and the calculation of the adiabatic potential uses the iterative method of perturbation theory for nonorthogonal functions.
