The complexity of control structures and data structures

Proceedings of seventh annual ACM symposium on Theory of computing - STOC '75, 1975
The running time or computational complexity of a sequential process is usually determined by summing weights attached to the basic operations from which the process is derived. In practice, however, the complexity is often limited by how efficiently it can access its data structures and how efficiently it can control program flow.

Structure of ‘Complex’ Phospholipids

Nature, 1966
COLLINS has given evidence for the presence of ‘complex’ phospholipids in animal tissues, and he suggested that they contained a phosphate triester group. He further suggested that they break down on silicic acid to give moieties having the currently accepted structures of the known phospholipids1,2.

Adenovirus complex structures

Current Opinion in Structural Biology, 2005
Adenovirus has, for a long time, been a model system for understanding complex virus structure, assembly and interference in host cell processes. Recent structures of adenoviral capsid proteins critical for cell entry have given new insights into both interactions with host cell receptors and inter-capsid protein interactions, which determine the ...

On complex solvmanifolds and affine structures

Annali di Matematica Pura ed Applicata, 1985
There is a conjecture of \textit{A. Silva} [Rend. Semin. Mat., Torino 1983, Special Issue, 172-192 (1984)] that for the class of compact complex manifolds being affine is equivalent to being a solvmanifold. In this paper the authors show the existence of affine structures on solvmanifolds which satisfy their so-called K-condition.

Structure of ‘Complex’ Phospholipids

Nature, 1963
RECENTLY, Collins has described the presence of ‘complex’ phospholipids in animal tissues1,2. These compounds are shown to be very sensitive towards silicic acid and other mild hydrolytic reagents. This characteristic is believed to be the reason why other workers failed to detect the ‘complex’ phospholipid fraction, since chromatography over silicic ...

Structure of the haptoglobin–haemoglobin complex

Nature, 2012
Red cell haemoglobin is the fundamental oxygen-transporting molecule in blood, but also a potentially tissue-damaging compound owing to its highly reactive haem groups. During intravascular haemolysis, such as in malaria and haemoglobinopathies, haemoglobin is released into the plasma, where it is captured by the protective acute-phase protein ...

Structurally Reinforced Tetraazamacrocyclic Complexes

Inorganic Chemistry, 2000
The reaction between alkyl or aryl aldehydes and macrocyclic ligands with pendant amine groups produced imidazolidine-containing bi- or tricyclic ligands. The copper complexes of three of these ligands were structurally characterized: [CuL3Cl].3H2O (triclinic, P1, a = 10.041(2) A, b = 10.172(1) A, c = 11.202(1) A, alpha = 92.07(1) degrees, beta = 96.76(

Evolutionary Synthesis of Complex Structures

2008 19th International Conference on Database and Expert Systems Applications, 2008
Synthesis, identification and control of the complex systems is usually extremely complicated. When classics methods are used, also some simplifications are done which leads to idealized solutions that are far away of reality. In the contrary, class of method based on evolutionary principles, is successfully used to solve this kind of problems with ...
