Clique complexes and graph powers

open access: yes, 2012
We study the behaviour of clique complexes of graphs under the operation of taking graph powers. As an example we compute the clique complexes of powers of cycles, or, in other words, the independence complexes of circular complete graphs.Comment: V3 ...

Method of identification of parameters of closed planetary train based on exploratory design

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Practicability of usage of gears with closed planetary trains in high-powered drives having weight and dimensions limitations is represented. Method that makes it possible to perform evaluation of mass-dimensional characteristics of planetary double-flow

Potential Early Risk Biomarkers for Reduced Forced Expiratory Volume in Children Post‐Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We sought to identify potential early risk biomarkers for lung disease in children post‐allogeneic HCT. Patients with pulmonary function tests 3 months post‐transplant and plasma samples between days 7 and 14 post‐HCT were included. Six of 27 subjects enrolled had reduced forced expiratory volume 1 (FEV1) z scores.

Mechanical resistance of the environment affects root hair growth and nucleus dynamics

open access: yesScientific Reports
Root hair (RH) cells are important for the growth and survival of seedlings. They favor plant–microbe interactions and nutrients uptake. When invading the soil, RH cells have to penetrate a dense medium exhibiting a variety of physical properties, such ...

Metabolic Aspects of Palladium(II) Potential Anti-Cancer Drugs

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2020
This mini-review reports on the existing knowledge of the metabolic effects of palladium [Pd(II)] complexes with potential anticancer activity, on cell lines and murine models. Most studies have addressed mononuclear Pd(II) complexes, although increasing

Personalizing the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship: Adapting Training for the Next Generation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The pediatric hematology‐oncology fellowship training curriculum has not substantially changed since its inception. The first year of training is clinically focused, and the second and third years are devoted to scholarship. However, this current structure leaves many fellows less competitive in the current job market, resulting in ...

Migration and segregation of confined droplets flowing in flexible channels with a rectangular cross-section

open access: yesScientific Reports
We investigate the behavior of droplets flowing through flexible rectangular channels and uncover a fascinating phenomenon: pancake-shaped confined droplets migrate transversely toward the channel center. Our findings reveal that this migration is driven

Psychosocial Outcomes in Patients With Endocrine Tumor Syndromes: A Systematic Review

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction The combination of disease manifestations, the familial burden, and varying penetrance of endocrine tumor syndromes (ETSs) is unique. This review aimed to portray and summarize available data on psychosocial outcomes in patients with ETSs and explore gaps and opportunities for future research and care.

Singing‐sand avalanches without dunes

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2012
Singing‐sand dunes have attracted curiosity for centuries and are now the subject of controversy. We address here two aspects of this controversy: first the possible link between the frequency heard and the shear rate (for a gravity avalanche on a dune ...
