On the complexity of escape analysis
Proceedings of the 24th ACM SIGPLAN-SIGACT symposium on Principles of programming languages - POPL '97, 1997Escape analysis is an abstract interpretation technique for statically optimizing storage management devised by Park & Goldberg [30]. The main application of escape analysis is the optimization of storage management and data locality in garbage-collected languages such as ML or JAVA.We improve the previously known exponential complexity bound of Park &

Analysis of the Oedipal Complex
Psychological Reports, 1969When 32 female Ss chose a photo of a physique which they would desire as “lover,” Ss tended to choose a physique which either received a rank of 1 or 7 (most or least like father) on a scale of perceived likeness to “father.” It was concluded that the results support certain aspects of the construct, Oedipal complex.

Proceedings of the fourth international conference on Functional programming languages and computer architecture - FPCA '89, 1989
One way to analyse programs is to to derive expressions for their computational behaviour. A time bound function (or worst-case complexity) gives an upper bound for the computation time as a function of the size of input. We describe a system to derive such time bounds automatically using abstract interpretation.

On the Complexity Analysis of Static Analyses
Journal of the ACM, 1999This paper argues that for many algorithms, and static analysis algorithms in particular, bottom-up logic program presentations are clearer and simpler to analyze, for both correctness andcomplexity, than classical pseudo-code presentations. The main technical contribution consists of two theorems which allow, in many cases, the asymptotic running time

From Complexity Analysis to Performance Analysis
2003This work presents a new approach to the relation between theoretical complexity and performance analysis of parallel programs. The study of the performance is driven by the information produced during the complexity analysis stage and supported at the top level by a complexity analysis oriented language and at the bottom level by a special purpose ...

The analysis of complex sound features is important for the perception of environmental sounds, speech and music, and may be abnormal in disorders such as specific language impairment in children, and in common adult lesions including stroke and multiple sclerosis.
