Rule-based component development

Third ACIS Int'l Conference on Software Engineering Research, Management and Applications (SERA'05), 2005
Upon component design, there is a need to define rules regarding variability discovered during the development for business applications separately in order to increase extensibility and reusability of components. Component adaptation techniques through either interface wrapping or redefinition of the implementation class carry limitations in ...

Component based development of UDBC

Companion of the 17th annual ACM SIGPLAN conference on Object-oriented programming, systems, languages, and applications, 2002
A Universal DataBase Connectivity (UDBC) component has been developed with component-based approach. This paper presents our design goal, software architecture, and implementation issues for UDBC. Strength, limitations, and possible extension of JavaBean component architecture and its design environment are discussed.

The Economics of Component-Based Development

Information Systems Management, 2000
Abstract Software components have been championed because they can be used to shorten a system's software development cycle and therefore lower its development costs. As this column explains, lower development expenses are just one of the many economic benefits that can be realized with component-based development.

Component-Based Development: Extension with Business Component reuse

2009 Third International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science, 2009
Component-Based Development Methods (CBDM) become largely adopted and used. They replace the traditional methods by the introduction, in their development lifecycle, of two processes: design for reuse and design by reuse. However, these two processes are not clearly established and are combined in the majority of the CBDM. This paper aims to propose an

Logic for Component-Based Software Development

2002
The title of this paper is styled on that of Kowalski’s seminal book Logic for Problem Solving [32]. This is because in this paper we want to discuss how logic can play a crucial part in next-generation component-based software development, just as Kowalski showed in [32] that logic can be used for programming.

Component based development methods

Proceedings of the 5th international conference on Computer systems and technologies - CompSysTech '04, 2004
This paper realizes a comparison among three of the best known component based development methods, emphazing on the earlier phases of the development process (domain modeling, requirements modeling, analysis) and on the modality used to identify business requirements and to encapsulates them in software components.
