Exploring the Application of Waxes and Their Mixtures Oleogels in Ice Cream

open access: yesJournal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, Volume 103, Issue 7, Page 719-728, July 2026.
ABSTRACT The objective of this work was to produce ice cream using waxes oleogels, aiming to improve its nutritional value while maintaining its physical‐chemistry characteristics. Five ice cream formulations were manufactured using (1) milk fat, (2) canola oil, and (3–5) canola oil‐oleogels. The oleogels were produced with beeswax (BEW), carnauba wax (

Multi‐Scale Hybrid Modeling to Predict Cell Culture Process With Metabolic Phase Transitions

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, Volume 123, Issue 7, Page 1745-1770, July 2026.
ABSTRACT To advance understanding of cellular metabolism and reduce batch‐to‐batch variability in cell culture processes, this study introduces a multi‐scale hybrid modeling framework designed to simulate and predict the dynamic behavior of CHO cell cultures undergoing metabolic phase transitions.

Media Attention to Climate Change and Investor Flows in US Equity Mutual Funds

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, Volume 35, Issue 5, Page 6555-6576, July 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper investigates how climate‐related news influences mutual fund investor behaviour in the United States. Although prior research has documented the financial relevance of climate risks, little is known about how media attention to climate change shapes capital allocation across mutual funds.

Evidence From Microscopy and U–Pb Geochronology as a Clue to the Influence of the Cretaceous Magmatism in the Diagenesis of Pre‐Salt Carbonate Reservoirs in the Santos Basin (Brazil)

open access: yesGeological Journal, Volume 61, Issue 7, Page 1976-2001, July 2026.
Carbonates from Santos Basin revealed U–Pb ages correlated with basalt ages (A), suggesting that they were formed during magmatic events. These events placed hot CO2 in the reservoir, which, when mixed with carbonate‐rich cold water (B), led to thermal convection, enabling the formation of the U contained in the carbonates.

Forest degradation reduces acoustic partitioning in tropical avian communities

open access: yesJournal of Avian Biology, Volume 2026, Issue 4, July 2026.
The acoustic niche hypothesis posits that species partition acoustic space by frequency and time to avoid signal masking, and that any local loss of species leaves detectable gaps in co‐evolved soundscapes. However, loss, fragmentation and disturbance of habitat often lead to species turnover, and as sensitive species are lost, generalist species ...
