Hybrid Ferroelectric Tunnel Junctions with Intrinsic Nonlinearity and Self‐Rectification via Interfacial Reconstruction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Rapid thermal annealing reconstructs the BCFO/Nb:STO interface into an atomically thin reconstructed interfacial layer, which reshapes the tunneling barrier and converts a high‐TER ferroelectric tunnel junction into an intrinsically nonlinear, self‐rectifying device.

Atomic‐Scale Visualization of Topotactic Resistive Switching in Epitaxial La0.5Sr0.5CoOx Neuromorphic Memristors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Forming‐free epitaxial Pt/La0.5Sr0.5CoOx (LSCO)/La0.5Sr0.5MnO3 (LSMO) memristors exhibit heterogeneous and partially reversible topotactic switching involving brownmillerite (BM)‐, Grenier (GN)‐like‐, and perovskite (PV)‐like configurations. Atomic‐resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy and in situ transmission electron microscopy resolve

An investigation into arc detection and fire safety aspects of photovoltaic installations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The number of PV systems around the world is increasing and the systems are aging with little to no inspections and maintenance. Exposed to UV, the weather and rodents cables, connection points and other components can degrade to the point where there is

Configuration‐Encoded Cell Alignment by Light‐Gated Silicon Photovoltaic Microcell Arrays

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Light‐gated silicon photovoltaic microcells convert pulsed illumination into localized electrical cues. Arranging otherwise similar microcells into four‐lobed, six‐lobed, or circular patterns directs fibroblasts into corresponding local arrangements without wired stimulation.

Design of Post-Consumer Modification of Standard Solar Modules to Form Large-Area Building-Integrated Photovoltaic Roof Slates

open access: yesDesigns, 2017
Building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) systems have improved aesthetics but generally cost far more than conventional PV systems because of small manufacturing scale.

Comparative Evaluation of Lifetime of Three-Level Inverters in Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Systems

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
The cost of the PV energy reduction is still required to increase the penetration level of PV systems in the energy market. The reliability of PV inverters is one of the important aspects to be enhanced in order to reduce the cost of PV energy, since it ...

Energetic Offset in Organic Solar Cells‐ Importance, Confusion and Outlook

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Energetic offsets in organic solar cells (OSCs) remain a subject of debate due to measurement‐ and lab‐dependent discrepancies. This Perspective clarifies the physical origins of these variations and identifies temperature‐dependent electro‐optical methods as a reliable approach to obtain consistent offset values.

An Optimal Collocation Strategy for the Key Components of Compact Photovoltaic Power Generation Systems

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
The objective of this study was to develop an optimal evaluation system for collocating photovoltaic (PV) modules and power conditioners by using the extension engineering method. The matter-element model and correlation functions of the extension theory

Electrical impact of photovoltaic plant in distributed network [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This paper presents the problem of the power penetration of photovoltaic (PV) systems in urban networks. After a qualitative problem description, two different environments for the PV systems have been analyzed: rural and urban networks.
