Effects of repeated exposure to ozonated water on hair fibre structure and integrity: Part I

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, EarlyView.
Repeated exposure to ozonated water caused cumulative oxidative changes in hair, altering structural integrity, thermal behaviour and mechanical properties. The findings reveal a distinct ozone‐induced damage profile that progresses beyond the cuticle, challenging claims of hair‐revitalizing benefits. Abstract Objective Ozone has recently been marketed

The nature and distribution of putative non-functional alleles suggest only two independent events at the origins of Astyanax mexicanus cavefish populations

open access: yesBMC Ecology and Evolution
Background Several studies suggested that cavefish populations of Astyanax mexicanus settled during the Late Pleistocene. This implies that the cavefish’s most conspicuous phenotypic changes, blindness and depigmentation, and more cryptic characters ...

Impact of ultraviolet radiation‐induced damage to hair fiber integrity: A multi‐technique physicochemical characterization of surface and cortex properties

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, EarlyView.
UV exposure induces cuticular and cortical damage in natural hair, with oxidative effects and protein degradation comparable to bleaching. However, double bleaching leads to significantly greater structural degradation, emphasizing distinct mechanisms and severity of chemical versus UV‐induced damage. Abstract The combination of chemist techniques is a

Dual asymmetric centrifugation to prepare cosmetic emulsions and creams: Physico‐chemical and energy considerations

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, EarlyView.
Dual asymmetric centrifugation (DAC) enables the preparation of stable cosmetic emulsions and structured creams with physicochemical, rheological and textural properties comparable to those of conventional processes. At larger scales, DAC also offers competitive energy efficiency by avoiding heating steps, supporting more sustainable cosmetic ...

Caring Comportment and the Hospitalist Model

open access: yesAMA Journal of Ethics, 2006
The hospitalist model should be modified to ensure that inpatients receive continuity of care and that their expressed values regarding treatment are maintained once they are admitted. Virtual Mentor is a monthly bioethics journal published by the American Medical Association.

Effects of Organisational and Managerial Interventions in Formal Care Settings on Aggressive Behaviour in Adults With Intellectual Disability or Autistic Adults. A Systematic Scoping Review

open access: yesJournal of Intellectual Disability Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Aggressive behaviour in formal care settings for persons with intellectual disability or autistic adults poses significant challenges. Individual‐level interventions have shown limited efficacy, highlighting the need to explore organisational and systemic approaches.

Discours de la honte et de l'entre‐deux linguistique et culturel chez les écrivains « transfuges » Annie Ernaux, Nicolas Mathieu et Lori Saint‐Martin

open access: yesOrbis Litterarum, EarlyView.

Historical Trends in Sexual Activity and Sexual Health in France (1992–2023): A Gendered Perspective

open access: yesPerspectives on Sexual and Reproductive Health, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To analyze historical gender trends in sexual indicators in France over a period of three decades. Methods We used data from three national probability surveys on sexual behaviors in France conducted in 1992 (N = 20,055), 2006 (N = 12,364), and 2023 (N = 19,015) to compare sexual indicators among men and women aged 18–69 years ...

Everyday Discrimination as a Driver of Political Protest Among the Lower Social Class: Evidence from Germany

open access: yesSwiss Political Science Review, EarlyView.
Abstract This research note investigates how discriminatory experiences shape political protest behaviour among lower social class citizens. While prior studies show that discrimination mobilises ethnic and racial minorities toward protest, the political consequences of class‐based discrimination remain underexplored.
