Therapeutic Apheresis for Intravenous Methylprednisolone‐Refractory Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder: Clinical and Radiological Outcomes in a Single‐Center Case Series

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a relapsing autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. High‐dose intravenous methylprednisolone (IVMP) is the standard first‐line therapy for acute attacks, although some patients remain refractory.

On Carlitz Compositions

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Combinatorics, 1998
This paper deals with Carlitz compositions of natural numbers (adjacent parts have to be different). The following parameters are analysed: number of parts, number of equal adjacent parts in ordinary compositions, largest part, Carlitz compositions with zeroes allowed (correcting an erroneous formula from Carlitz).

Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.

Preparation and properties of high stiffness hybrid carbon fibers composites

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng
With domestic high-strength medium modulus CCF800H carbon fiber as the basic reinforcement material, CCM40J and CCM55J high modulus carbon fibers as the hybrid reinforcements, and AC631 high-temperature bismaleimide resin as the matrix, the in-plane ...

Design of composite columns : steel, concrete or composite approach?

open access: yes, 2011
Composite columns are a combination of two traditional structural forms: structural steel and structural concrete. As composite columns were generally developed after steel columns and reinforced concrete columns, their design approach could have been ...

Effects of the Fluid Replacement Method During Online Hemodiafiltration on the Solute Removal Performance and Biocompatibility Using the Asymmetric Cellulose Triacetate Membrane

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pre‐dilution online hemodiafiltration (Pre‐HDF) is predominantly used in Japan, whereas post‐dilution online HDF (Post‐HDF) is more common in Europe. An asymmetric cellulose triacetate (ATA) membrane may improve biocompatibility.

Machine learning for phase prediction of high entropy carbide ceramics from imbalanced data

open access: yesnpj Computational Materials
High-entropy carbide ceramics (HECCs) possess promising properties for extreme high-temperature applications. Machine learning offers an effective pathway to accelerate the discovery of novel HECCs, but data imbalance poses challenges for predictive ...

A novel post-weld treatment using nanostructured metallic multilayer for superior fatigue strength

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Welded joints exhibit fatigue failure potential from weld geometry and characteristics of the heat affected zone. In order to counteract fatigue, structures and components require larger thicknesses resulting in heavier designs exhausting the finite ...

A Bibliometric Analysis of Publications in Uremic Toxins From 1991 to 2024

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Uremic toxins are a growing area of research in nephrology, with significant implications in the progression and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the management of end‐stage kidney disease (ESKD). This bibliometric analysis aims to evaluate the global research trends, key contributors, and the impact of publications in ...

Effect of Heterogeneous Resin Curing Agent on Micro-mechanical Uniformity of Resin Matrix of Composites

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng, 2018
Preparation of prepregs by hot melt method is generally involved the infiltration of resin. For the epoxy resin with a heterogeneous curing system, the preparation of large thickness prepregs may be affected by the uneven distribution of curing agent.
