Wave force on composite bucket foundation of an offshore wind turbine

Journal of Hydrodynamics, 2016
A new analytical expression for calculating the wave force on a composite bucket foundation is obtained. Based on the diffraction theory, the analytical solution of the wave pressure and the wave force on the composite bucket foundation is accurately derived by assigning reasonable boundary conditions.

The wet-towing resistance of the composite bucket foundation for offshore wind turbines

Marine Structures, 2021
Abstract The composite bucket foundation (CBF) is a new and environmentally-friendly foundation for offshore wind turbines. This foundation can be prefabricated in batches onshore followed by integrated transport and installation at sea. The structure itself has a subdivision air cushion structure that enables the foundation to float stably on the ...

Lifting Technique of Composite Bucket Foundation for Offshore Wind Turbines

Volume 9: Ocean Renewable Energy, 2020
Abstract The onshore pre-fabrication technology for composite bucket foundations takes “prefabrication-assembly-lifting” as the core concept. The practice of pre-fabrication of upper and lower structures is prefabricated respectively. In the research of hoisting engineering technology, combined with the structural form and construction ...

Material Composition of Bucket Foundation Transition Pieces for Offshore Wind Turbines

Civil-Comp Proceedings, 2010
In Denmark, production of renewable energy is focused on offshore wind turbines, since they make little if any inconvenience for residents in inhabited areas. High requirements are placed on the installation of the foundations which can cost about 30% of the total cost of the wind turbine.

Wave Forces on the Composite Bucket Foundation of Offshore Wind Turbines

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
A three dimensional numerical model to calculate the wave forces on the composite bucket foundation of the offshore wind turbine is established and the analytical method to approximatively calculate wave forces on the structure with the variable cross section is proposed. Based on the validation of numerical results, wave forces on the composite bucket

Anti-liquefaction characteristics of composite bucket foundations for offshore wind turbines

Journal of Renewable and Sustainable Energy, 2014
Occurrence of liquefaction in saturated sandy deposits under structure foundation can cause a wide range of structural damages from minor settlement to general failure because of bearing capacity loss. By comparing traditional foundations for offshore wind turbines, the soil inside and underneath the composite bucket foundation is subjected to the ...
