Reducing Composition Errors: An Experiment

Foreign Language Annals, 1982
and over again, despite the fact that they have studied certain rules of grammar.1 Fortunately or unfortunately, the problem of recurring errors is not peculiar to the teaching of German. The question remains, therefore, what measures teacher and student can take to ameliorate the situation. How can students be brought to show an appreciable decline in

Composite errors of long gage blocks

SPIE Proceedings, 1993
The composite errors of long gage blocks and the method for controlling these error are discussed which provides a basis for effectively improving composite accuracy. The theoretical work and experiment were conducted to analyze the effect of deformation errors caused by clamp force.

Worse than measurement error: Consequences of inappropriate latent variable measurement models.

Psychological methods, 2020
Previous research and methodological advice has focused on the importance of accounting for measurement error in psychological data. That perspective assumes that psychological variables conform to a common factor model. We explore what happens when data

Error-Correcting Codes for Combinatorial Composite DNA

International Symposium on Information Theory
Data storage in DNA is developing as a possible solution for archival digital data. Recently, to further increase the potential capacity of DNA-based data storage systems, the combinatorial composite DNA synthesis method was suggested.

On the composition of elementary errors

Scandinavian Actuarial Journal, 1928
Analysis of statistical distributions. 1. Let m and σ denote the mean and the standard deviation of a statistical variable X, and let W(x) be the probability function of that variable as defined in the first paper 1 , Art. 1. If we put (cf. I, formula (3)) F(x) is the probability function of the variable , with the mean value 0 and the standard ...

Ternary Error Diagrams:  Graphical Representation of Errors in Ternary System Compositions

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2005
A new technique is described for graphically presenting the errors between predicted and measured ternary compositions. The ternary error diagram is constructed using three axes, one for each of the errors associated with each component. Each of the three axes is rotated by 120° about the origin with respect to the other two axes.

Adaptive Sliding Mode Disturbance Observer-Based Composite Control With Prescribed Performance of Space Manipulators for Target Capturing

IEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print), 2019
The requirements for the control performances of space manipulators, especially for the stability and accuracy of the attitude control systems of the base spacecrafts, are ever increasing during the space target capturing tasks.

User errors in database query composition

International Journal of Human-Computer Studies, 1995
This research reports on the experimental test of several causes of user errors while composing database queries. The query language under consideration is Structured Query Language (SQL), the industry standard language for querying databases. Unfortunately, users commit many errors when using SQL.
