Evaluation of Hollow Core Composite Insulators
TCLEE 2009, 2009This paper presents preliminary results and analysis of a cantilever load test on two types hollow-core composite insulators and summarizes the response of the insulators to different types of loading. The tube of the insulator is a cylindrical shell of fibers-glass in a resin-based matrix with aluminum flange end fittings.

IEEE Transactions on Electrical Insulation, 1986A description is given of composite insulation, i. e. swelling of polymers by oil, oil streaming electrification of solid dielectrics , and V-t characteristics of LN2-impregnated insulation due to partial discharge.
