Composites Part B: Engineering, 2019
Carbon fiber composite laminates were interfacially reinforced through in-situ synthesis of g-C3N4 on the carbon fibers. The introduced g-C3N4 greatly improved the roughness, functional groups and wettability on the carbon fiber surface and markedly ...

Composite Laminate Stiffnesses and Their Sensitivities
20th Design Automation Conference: Volume 2 — Robust Design Applications; Decomposition and Design Optimization; Optimization Tools and Applications, 1994Abstract The great number of possible stacking orders to form laminates suggests to apply optimization, more frequently than usual, in the design of structures made of composite materials. One of the columns upon which optimization of structures is built is the mathematical search procedure for locating a minimum (or maximum) of a ...

Dynamic characteristics of composite laminates
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1972An exact solution for the vibration of elastic composite laminates in cylindrical bending is presented. Dispersion curves for multi-layer symmetrical and unsymmetrical laminates with materials possessing high and low degrees of anisotropy at various fiber orientations are compared with those obtained from an approximate shear deformation theory.

Modeling and analysis of composite laminates in the presence of uncertainties
Composites Part B: Engineering, 2019The basic or primitive parameters of composite laminates, such as the constituent materials properties, the thickness of each ply, the ply orientations and the applied loads, exhibit variabilities, hence, the response of the laminated composites also ...

Fiber bridging in composite laminates: A literature review
, 2019Fiber reinforced composites are quickly replacing their metal counterparts in the structural applications due to their higher specific strength and stiffness. The fiber bridging increases the fracture toughness of the composites several times.

Thermal Response in Laminated Composites
ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, 1975AbstractA semi‐infinite laminated composite in which the matrix and filler material are aligned parallel to the heat propagation direction is considered. At x = 0, there is applied a harmonic boundary heat flux of y‐periodicity conforming to the periodicity of the layered composite. The Fourier integral solution is decomposed into normal modes.

SPH-FEM simulation of impacted composite laminates with different layups
, 2019Composite laminates offer the potential for reducing the weight of civil aircrafts. However, a major hazard to civil aviation is bird-strike impact damage.

POSTBUCKLING OF LAMINATED COMPOSITES WITH DELAMINATIONS
34th Structures, Structural Dynamics and Materials Conference, 1993Summary: Postbuckling analysis of laminated composites with delaminations is presented. A finite element method based on a layerwise laminated composite plate theory is developed to formulate and solve the problem. Geometric nonlinearity in the sense of von Kármán and imperfections in the form of initial global deflection and initial delamination ...
